February 27th - Take a Screen-Free Day
|
We hope you've enjoyed the guided tour through India over the past few weeks, but today, we challenge you to take a conscious break from information overload.
Though our computers and mobile devices help us to accomplish so much in this fast-paced world we live in, we invite you this week to designate a day where you'll resist the urge to pick up your smartphone or push the power button on your computer. Pass up the chance to surf the web, compulsively check email, or plan ahead for __________.
Let your mind rest.
It's only one day or maybe a few sacred hours. Yes, this sounds challenging, but disciplining yourself to do this for even a portion of the day can be the first step in helping your mind unwind, creating more time and space for all those things we often say we wish we had more time to do...
...and maybe one of those things is yoga. If you're looking for a calming class, we encourage you to check out our next Restorative Yoga workshop coming up on Friday, March 15th (scroll down for details and sign-up link.) This month, Kayci will be teaching--it'll be 2 hours of bliss. For some helpful eye exercises to try on those days where being in front of a screen is inevitable, you might also check out this article from Yoga International. |
