December 19th- Celebrating the Winter Solstice
With the winter solstice and the end of the year nearly upon us, what a fine time it is to consider what we want to grow in our lives in the coming year. Here in the northern hemisphere, we experience this as the darkest day of the year as the sun dips as far as it will go below the equator.

Solstice, derived from Latin literally means "sun standing still"-- the sun's seasonal movement stops for a period of 3 days before continuing its journey in the opposite direction. However, thanks to the cyclical nature of our world, we can trust that the light will return after great darkness, no matter how long it may feel. This path back to the light has symbolized great hope in many cultures over the ages.

"Help us to be ever faithful gardeners of the spirit, who know that without darkness nothing comes to birth, and without light nothing flowers", the poet May Sarton once wrote. What better time than now to set an intention for growth in your own life? For out of the darkness, great things can be born. What do you hope for? What would you like to make manifest?

This Friday, we invite you to the studio to celebrate this hopeful transition with us with:
