"We hit the mark on this one," stated Kerry Schulte, customer service manager for Code 3® Inc., a St. Louis headquartered company that manufactures and markets a complete line of lighting and sound-based warning products distributed to over 70 countries.
Kerry continued, "The design team's front end assessment narrowed down specific skills needed by our customer service representatives, so the class delivered real-life answers to problems we see every day."
Code 3®, Inc. recently partnered with the Workforce Solutions Group to assist customer service representatives (CSRs) identify and prevent possible problems in orders for light bars before they are actually produced. This project was part of the Perfect Order Initiative, Code 3's commitment to give customers the exact product desired every time they place an order.
Ellen Irons, senior instructional designer and consultant for the college, worked closely with Schulte and Nathan Rosenfeld, technical services manager. The six hour class was delivered in December, with eight CSRs attending. Immediately, Nathan started seeing results. He shared:
"I was very impressed with the response and immediate improvement from all the individuals who attended. Ellen did a tremendous job of taking a huge amount of raw content and forming it into an organized and easy-to-understand complete training module."
Starting Feb. 20, 2014
St. Louis Community College's training for drinking water operators is an Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7 grant-funded program. Training will include classroom work, as well as on-site training at water utility facilities. Upon successful completion of the training, students are able to take certification exams provided by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for water treatment (Level D) and water distribution (DS-1). Drinking water operator certification establishes a professional standard, and also provides the knowledge and understanding drinking water operators need to provide safe, adequate drinking water to the public.
