If all creation had been whispering the story of its
own spirituality for 13.5 billion years... we would call that story
creation spirituality.

And There He Prayed
                      by Andrew King

In the darkness, light:
enfolding him, embracing him,
as we are embraced and enfolded
in our prayer.

In the emptiness, presence:
meeting him, receiving him,
as we are met and received
in our prayer.

In the stillness, peace:
nourishing him, refreshing him,
as we are refreshed and nourished
in our prayer.

In the spaciousness, listening:
hearing him, affirming him,
as we are heard and affirmed
in our prayer.

In the sacredness, calling:
beckoning him, directing him,
as we are directed and beckoned
in our prayer.

Annapolis Emergency Preparedness
What to Do When Disaster Threatens

On October 8th GAIN (Greater Annapolis Interfaith Network) sponsored a very informative program with a speaker from the City of Annapolis Office of Emergency Preparedness.  All and every kind of emergency was covered, and there is a little guidebook with practical information that you can get from their website: www.annapolis.gov/EPARM or by calling 410-216-9167.

From Erine

Letting Go isn't always the hard stuff like I wrote about last week. Sometimes it's letting yourself go.  Have you ever heard anything so funny but you didn't laugh?  Have you ever found pleasure in something but let your own inner fear get the better of you? Have you ever not trusted a moment, maybe the moment that changes your outlook?  My answer is YES!  What would your answer be?

Recently, I have had many moments that I let myself go and enjoyed them. One of my oldest moments was when my Dad said, "Look, Patty peed on the table!"  I was all of 7-years, give or take, but still that moment brings a sense of joy.  The other with my mother, Patty, is bittersweet.  She is laying in her hospital bed in her home and she said, "You, me and a bunch of old ladies." We were talking about BINGO and a mother taking her 14-year old to play BINGO on a weekly basis.  We laughed when I wanted to cry, but we enjoyed the moment.  I still smile and that was in June 2000 when she passed.  She would have been 69 on October 23rd.   Other moments include a co-worker stating, "Erine, you can get drunk on yourself."  I loved it and I smile!  The joy of watching seals sitting on a rock, if I remember correctly, with my Dad in 2012 on Christmas Eve morning and seeing his excitement. He was so excited to share it with me.   Sharing Gran Marnier with my stepmom and feeling like a daughter with a mom again.   Cutting up with friends and enjoying when a sarcastic karaoke song comes your way and you go with it.  I have had many and expect more to come...LOL!  I look forward to these moments in my life.

Letting Go is about trusting that pleasure is okay, too, and sometimes you see that being a little insane...my case, more than a little... can be the difference between living, loving, trying, holding, celebrating, and seeing that even in this time we are beautiful!   I wish I could find a quote from Wayne but I can't, because I saw a life where someone enjoyed living and loving, letting go of himself so we could see his beauty as "Our Pastor Wayne" and "the  Best Hugger in the World."  Let Go, just Let Go, and "YOU BE YOU!"
