"..... I started spending more time hiking with my dog.  I can honestly say that, having moved to a place where the woods have been left to live, die and regenerate as intended has been a healing experience beyond anything I had anticipated. The healing continues and I am forever grateful."

From Erine
Erine Sedicum
In our community, we have four paths.  Our current one is Letting Go.  "Like the leaves that fall gently landing on the earth/ground is the Letting Go and renewal soon to come in Spring." In our lives, we also have renewal, some changes are natural and others are unbelievable.  These Letting Go's are the lifeblood of changes.  My biggest change was seeing my mother dying in 2000 from cancer that spread.  We always had a quiet war and we knew it.  Yet at that moment, she gave me a gift of feeling like her daughter.  For the first time in 32 years I saw her heart and all those years of pain were erased.  Her words still haunt me, "You're beautiful, you're just so damn beautiful!"

I have had many Letting Go's since, but I learned to trust my heart.  Trust is hard when your World has been anything but...  It is easy to close the door and pretend people aren't important.  So many times, the purpose of seeing people through their heart is lost.  We look at clothes, station, choices, and friends - which explains why I love "The Breakfast Club."  These kids had nothing in common or so they thought.  They had the heart to love and care, and see the faults of human society.  The truth is bitter but it would have been interesting to see the story continue.  As they parted, their hearts did touch.

Let your heart shine...Your beautiful heart!!!

Thoughts from Sylvia for Evolve Companions
"I know we will find our way.  There is much wisdom in the circle we call Evolve.  And there are new people and a new wisdom yet to come.  I invite all of us to be open to the ways in which we feel the Divine is calling us and to share that with one another.
Each change is an opportunity to evaluate the way we do things and to explore new options and directions..... Let's each consider some intentional time set aside to listen to the Divine in our midst and to hear what others are willing to share about their individual and community spiritual journey."
- The Rev. Dr. Wayne Schwandt in his column, From the Minister's
Keyboard, printed in this eNewsletter on February 8, 2015

I would very much like to carry through on that heart-advice from Wayne.  I believe many Companions in Evolve are now feeling that we are on shaky ground, things seem to be falling apart, and it is a somewhat scary and vulnerable place in our very long transition.

We are "companions on a journey"--loved into being by Wayne, drawn into an inclusive, warm and caring community, formed and liberated by a creation spirituality to experience the Divine in, among, and around us, and to carry this out into the world where there is a desperate need for justice, love and light.  Each one of us who longs for this journey and who belongs to this journey, has an important part to play and an important voice to be heard.

Let us consider having a retreat all together, where we can give this deep thought, reflection, spaciousness, listening, and open and honest conversations among us.  I believe that now is the time for this.  I don't know where we'd go, how we'd find the time, or how we'd pay for it--but if we decide and commit to do this, we'll find a way.
