"Christianity is not about closed minds, supernatural interventions,

a fallen creation, guilt, original sin or divine rescue.

I believe it's about expanded life, heightened consciousness and achieving a new humanity."

    A Benediction

We will not live an unlived life:

We will not live in fear of falling or catching fire.
     We choose to risk our significance;
To live so that which comes to us as seed
Goes to the next as blossom,
And that which comes to us as blossom,
     Goes on as fruit.

Journey to the Center: A Labyrinth Workshop

Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 12:30 -3 pm

led by The Rev. Diana E. Carroll

                 St. Luke's Eastport Labyrinth

St. Luke's Episcopal Church

1101 Bay Ridge Avenue

Annapolis, Maryland 21403

This workshop will be an excellent introduction for those new to walking the labyrinth, as well as an opportunity for those with prior experience to deepen their practice. People of all religious backgrounds (and none) are invited to participate. The labyrinth is an ancient pattern for walking mediation and prayer. Many have found the journey to the center and back out again to be a source of healing and peace.

The Rev. Diana E. Carroll is a priest in the Episcopal Church and the rector of St. Luke's Church. She is a graduate of Kenyon College and Yale Divinity School. Pastor Diana has over 15 years of experience walking the labyrinth and has been speaking and leading workshops on it since 2009.

The workshop will be preceded by an Open Labyrinth Walk at noon, which anyone is welcome to attend.

Free and open to the public. Advance registration requested by calling 410-268-5419 or emailing office@stlukeseastport.org.  Visit www.stlukeseastport.org

Send your articles, poems, news, photos, announcements, petitions, pictures, cartoons, and whatever else you might like to see in our newsletter to EvolveSylvia@gmail.com by Thursday night.  Thank you!

The simplicity of relationships...
the apples and water as they have a relationship that is special.  The water helps a beautiful flower form and turn into an apple.  It is a very simple thing but man forgets the blessing of it all! This is LOVE and we need to see that!

Wednesday, June 27, 10am - 2pm at 888 First St NE, Washington, DC (Short walk from Union Station Metro):  Demonstration and vigil to bring  moral
witness to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)!
On June 27 we'll join with people of faith who are standing in solidarity with frontline communities who have been directly
impacted by FERC-approved projects. At 10am we'll gather
at the FERC office
in D.C. for an interfaith vigil with periods of
silent

the danger of fossil fuels and urge FERC to transform itself so
that it can help shift our country to clean, renewable energy.

Dayspring Retreat
DAYSPRING RETREAT
WEEKEND OF JULY 31 - AUGUST 2

The Mystical Words of Jesus: Praying the Beatitudes in his Native Aramaic

Aramaic was the common language in Jesus' time. Using Prayers of the Cosmos by Neil Douglas-Klotz as a guide, we will explore the Beatitudes' layered meanings through chant, breath and gentle movement, and we will have the freedom to write our own renditions of the Beatitudes.  Led by Connie Ridgway, a modern mystic and singer.  She is a psychotherapist and cranio-sacral therapist in Washington, DC, and member of the 8th Day Faith Community.
Dayspring is a rare and beautiful place for solitude, silence and rest. The forest and meadows, the quiet of Merton's Pond and the warmth of the Lodge of the Carpenter and the Inn create space for prayer and contempla- tion. Come, deepen your relationship with the One in whom we live and move and have our being.  You can ask Sylvia Oliva about Dayspring and contact them for more information and if you'd like to register:
