"Christianity is not about closed minds, supernatural interventions,

a fallen creation, guilt, original sin or divine rescue.

I believe it's about expanded life, heightened consciousness and achieving a new humanity."

Walking In His Light

The Late Rev. Dr. Wayne Schwandt,
Founder and Pastor of Evolve

I was walking in the early hours
A path that I have taken many Days
In grieving for a friend who has passed
Not able to grieve at the ceremony of friends
I did not know what to say to that spirit that passed
All I could do was smile for the smiles he gave me
Then all of a sudden I felt him close by my side
Before I even knew it I was talking to him as if still alive
Then I realized he has not gone anywhere
But still there within the joy he gave me many times
I am headed back to live in Baltimore
It may be hard to go to community that showed me love
But they will always be a part of my walk with God
This man that passed I so admired
And the community  of God so great in friendship
Will be a light in my life for those are truly friends
Suzie said it so well because he will always be with us
In death and the life he shared with us so full of love.
A path he started us on we have got to continue
To celebrate with him in death as in life

ON THE PATH OF TRANSFORMATION
:
Two Actions for Justice re: Cove Point Proposed LNG Facility
Sponsored by Interfaith Power & Light

               1.  Saturday, May 30, 9am:  rally
and march followed by picnic
Despite a massive public outcry, The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has
not been deterred from approving plans for the building of the liquified natural gas export facility at Cove Point. Environmental groups have now filed a lawsuit against
FERC for its inadequate environmental assessment.

"For the sake of families in Calvert County facing an industrial behemoth in their neighborhood; for the sake of those all along the East Coast who are trying to protect water supplies from fracking; and for the sake of all of our neighbors around the world already suffering from a disrupted climate... We're going to do what David did: we're going to stand up faithfully, and encourage each other to take heart." - Karen Leu of Interfaith Power & Light

Join the rally and march with local and regional allies on May 30 in opposition to the building of this facility. Gathering at 9 am at Solomons Island, we will begin the 6-mile march at 9:30 and end at Cove Point Park at 1 pm for a free family-friendly picnic.  Public parking lot at the corner of Alexander St & Calvert St, Solomons, MD.  Please RSVP for the march and picnic so we know how much food to prepare! Offer or find a carpool here.

2.  Wednesday, June 27, 10am - 2pm at 888 First St NE, Washington, DC (Short walk from Union Station Metro):  Demonstration and vigil to bring moral witness to FERC!
On June 27 we'll join with people of faith who are standing in solidarity with
frontline communities who have been directly impacted by FERC-approved projects. At 10am we'll gather at the FERC office in D.C. for an interfaith vigil with periods of silent witness and singing. Together we'll bring moral clarity to
the danger of fossil fuels and urge FERC to transform itself so that it can help shift our country to clean, renewable energy.  For questions, email Karen at  karen@gwipl.org.

  From Erine
Have you ever had that moment when your mind snaps?  I did on Tuesday and it snapped hard!  I came to see what I didn't want to see.  I saw an ugly truth and sometimes it doesn't come out clean.  The truth is I am a truth-teller.  I'm not afraid to say what needs to be said most of the time, especially about myself.  To some it is negative, but to others it is strength to just say I'm going through...  What more do I need to say except keeping it real helps the crazies disappear.  I cried on many of the comments received as I just was tired of...

I remember Wayne once talked about being tired and if there was any purpose to his continuing as a voice of reason.  I reflected on that reflection and I was listening deeper than I thought.  On Tuesday, I was looking for my voice of reason and heard Wayne's voice.  I remember how he paused and I remember how hard it is to doubt.  I have no doubts about this...I found my voice of reason in a Picasso way.  I am strong and afraid but I am in touch with my sometimes madding voice of reason!
