Despite the blue skies and the flowering plants and trees, I'm feeling down. It is an unusual time of the year for me to feel this way but nontheless it is the way I feel. Maybe it's partly the loss of my mother after so many years of struggle in hospice with Alzheimer's Disease, or the failing health of my aunt with whom I grew up along with my mom, dad, brother, sister and mother's brother. Maybe it's worry about how our community is going to grow when we have so many pressures facing us. How to reinvent our community (again!) feels like a daunting task.  I have too much to do preparing my papers for interviews with the UCC, celebration planning and music leadership, outreach in the community, and administrative tasks. 

 

Do you have any feedback on your experience at UCCA since our merger on November 30?  Have you liked what is happening with our evening Sacred Gatherings?  Like the format of circle and music?  We are undertaking interviewing some candidates to work with us on music. We would appreciate your input and feedback. How do we expand our circle from 16 to 50? That is a question which is both about adding chairs and concentric circles and also about inviting new companions to the circle. Do you have friends or acquaintances you think would find meaning in our Sacred Gatherings?

 

Maybe you are a casual reader of this newsletter and you've never attended one of our Gatherings. Would you like to be part of a community which considers you an original blessing? a manifestation of the Divine? What would that do for your self-esteem and under- standing? Think G-d doesn't make mistakes or junk? Well neither do we!

 

We all have our emotional ups and downs from time to time. I'm in one of my valleys right now but I know that I have the supportive love of Companions to carry me across the valley to the next mountain top. I know that I am not alone. I know that I am loved.  

 

Evolve is a place where you too can know those things if you will but let yourself experience it and expand your consciousness!
