The Rev. Ryan Sirmons and Parishioners
The Rev. Ryan Sirmons, Pastor of the U.C.C. of Annapolis, along with some members of his Church will present a forum to help us under- stand the theology, practice and organiza- tion of the United Church of Christ. Each family in our community may pick up a resource book as background for our discussion. Please see Pastor Wayne for that.  The book is entitled What matters to you? Matters to us: engaging six vital themes of our faith.  The forum will
be from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at the Annapolis Friends Meeting House.
Open Arms Returns September 30
We look forward to
meeting Tuesday, September 30 at 6:30 P.M.  Come for dinner and discussion about our invitation to become a ministry of the United Church of Christ of Annapolis.  We can continue our discussion of the book, "What matters to you? matters to us."  For further information contact Pastor Wayne at SchwandtW@aol.com.  Everyone welcome!
Be ours a religion which, like sunshine, goes everywhere;
its temple, all space;
its shrine, the good heart;
its creed, all truth;
its ritual, works of love.

We each have within us
The wisdom, grace, strength and power
To heal, grow and flourish
Like a beautiful lotus flower
Rising above the dark waters of our lives
To share our light with the world

A gem I found on TED talks:
Brene Brown in June 2010 speaks of:

Brené Brown studies human connection - our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity.                                     - Sylvia

PEOPLE'S CLIMATE MARCH NEW YORK CITY, SEPTEMBER 21
Message from Interfaith Power & Light

What is the People's Climate March?
The People's Climate March will be the largest climate justice mobilzation in history! Half a million people (or more, with your help!) will be gathering in New York City to tell world leaders not to wait a minute longer to take serious action on climate. The People's Climate March is just two days before a special UN summit to bring together heads of state, including President Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping, to talk seriously about climate change.
Can't make it to NYC?
Tell U.S. leaders they must take moral leadership on climate and take the lead on a global climate treaty. Sign the Faith Climate
Petition to make sure our community's voice is loud and clear.
