Rabbi Jesus Book Group's final session Sept. 14
An Excerpt from the Fourteenth Chapter of Rabbi Jesus,
An Intimate Biography by Bruce Chilton:

"Rabbi Jesus pushed, bullied, cajoled, berated, threatened, wheedled, whined, and otherwise made himself a nuisance until his disciples came to think of their lives not as the happenstance of pleasure and pain, but as a prophetic vocation.  Each of them was to seek the life beyond this life.  In God's presence alone the sum of one's sojourn on earth was measured.  He offered an answer to the question posed in Ecclesiastes: 'Who knows whether the spirit of people goes up above, and whether the spirit of beasts goes down under the earth?' (3:21).  The direction of one's spirit, he taught, was no mere matter of happenstance; it was within one's power to influence. "
THE PANTRY SHELVES ARE EMPTY!  Please bring
a food staple to any food bank you can because the needs are great at this time.  Or bring along a food staple or personal care product when you come to Sacred Gathering, and they will be collected for our usual food bank.

The following online course from CSource, called Deepen into Divine Love: The Adorata Virtues Course, is currently taking place:
(8/9/2014 - 10/11/2014)
Adorata Madona art by Tiziana Della Rovere

Adorata
, Latin for "beloved", is a body of teachings and a spiritual path where the goal is an increased ability to receive and give love in all its forms. It works by harmonizing your inner male and female within, two aspects of the psyche existing in all men and women.

Adorata unites a Divine Feminine based spirituality with a new archetype of Divine Masculine spirituality, to create embodied love - the alchemy of Sacred Union within
your body and heart.

PEOPLE'S CLIMATE MARCH NEW YORK CITY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2014
Message from Interfaith Power & Light

What is the People's Climate March?
The People's Climate March will be the largest climate justice mobilzation in history! Half a million people (or more, with your help!) will be gathering in New York City to tell world leaders not to wait a minute longer to take serious action on climate. The People's Climate March is just two days before a special UN summit to bring together heads of state, including President Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping, to talk seriously about climate change.
Can't make it to NYC?
Tell U.S. leaders they must take moral leadership on climate and take the lead on a global climate treaty. Sign the Faith Climate
Petition to make sure our community's voice is loud and clear.
