Food Bank
Next Sunday, July 13th, has been declared "Dishwashing Soap Day!"  Please support the food bank if you can, by bringing along a food staple or personal care product such as deodorant, toothpaste, laundry detergent, etc. when you come to Sacred Gathering. Bring whatever you can (doesn't have to be dishwashing soap!). It is always much needed and much appreciated.  
Looking for an opportunity to share more sacred circle dancing (body prayer) and chants? Come join us on July 27 at 4:30
PM and we'll explore these together. 
School on the Water is Under Way!

Evolve Chesapeake made a grant from its Benevolence Fund to this program which is run by Larry Griffin's We Care and Friends. School on the Water offers at-risk children ages 7-16 an opportunity for learning, mentoring and fun experiences on the Chesapeake.  So far, the campers have already visited Coney Island, attended the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, gone to the DC Zoo and Native American Museum, and spent time in and on the water at Sandy Point. Other trips will take them to the US Mint, to play at Six Flags, explore Bay heritage at Sultana in Chestertown and discover their inner James Bond at the Spy Museum.  Trips to Sandy Point, Ocean City and Maryland Hall are also on the agenda.  
Join the Rally to Stop Fracked Gas Exports from Cove Point


WHAT:  Rally to Stop Fracked Gas Exports at Cove Point and Beyond!
WHEN:  Sunday, July 13th, 12:30pm - 3:30pm
WHERE: Rally begins west of the U.S. Capitol Reflecting Pool on the National Mall.  We will meet at the intersection of 3rd St NW and Madison Drive NW, Washington, DC 20216.
WHY:  The proposed LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) facility at Cove Point would increase demand for fracking in communities from Pennsylvania to Colorado, poisoning their air and water and releasing millions of tons of climate-warming methane. Right now, FERC (the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) is nearing a decision on an export facility just fifty miles from the White House at Cove Point, Maryland.  Cove Point has become a symbolic fight in our efforts to block the development of fracking, and now is our chance to stop it there and beyond.

NOTE:  If you let Pastor Wayne know if you are going to the Rally, we  might like to meet-up there.
