From Creation Spirituality Communities:

2nd* Principle of Creation Spirituality

In Creation, God is both immanent and transcendent.
This is panentheism
which is not theism (God out there)
and not atheism (no God anywhere).

We experience that the Divine is in all things
and all things are in the Divine.

*Editor's note: This is actually the 2nd Principle of Creation Spirituality
and I erred in calling the one in t
he previous newsletter the 2nd.  The previous one was the 3rd.

PAINTING THE STARS

Science, Religion and an Evolving Faith

When I have a terrible need of--dare I say--"religion"?--

then I go outside at night and paint the stars.

                                                                      ~Vincent Van Gogh

Open Arms Arundel is starting a new study based on the Living the Questions series, "Painting the Stars."  The Sunday Painting the Stars group will meet at 4:30 PM at AFM on the fourth Sunday of each month.  How- ever, the first meeting will be held on Sunday, October 20 (third Sunday).

This group is open to anyone who would like to participate.

The Reader for the series is available for download by clicking here.

"ALL CREATION CARRIES WITHIN IT..."

"All creation carries within it a memory of the divine heart
out of which it emerged. Our tradition has called
this the
image of God. But in an evolutionary model, this image is
not static. It is more like a felt impulse--a dynamic yearning--fired with a holy urgency to 'go to the limits of
our longing,' inhabit life more deeply, to protect what
matters more fiercely, to transcend limiting forms and
modes of consciousness, to realize our unity in the midst
of diversity, and to co-create the future which Jesus called
the Kin(g)dom of God."

                              - Bruce Sanguin in "Painting the Stars"

Calligraphy by Thich Nhat HanhCall

"THE SHAPE OF EACH SOUL IS DIFFERENT..."

"The shape of each soul is different. There is a secret destiny for each person. When you endeavor to repeat what others have done or force yourself into a preset mold, you betray your individuality. We need to return to the solitude within, to find again the dream that lies at the hearth of the soul. We need to feel the dream with the wonder of a child approaching a threshold of discovery. When we rediscover our childlike nature, we enter into a world of gentle possibility. Consequently, we will find ourselves more frequently at that place, at the place of ease, delight, and celebration. The false burdens fall away. We come into rhythm with ourselves. Our clay shape gradually learns to walk beautifully on this magnificent earth."

~ from Anam Cara, A Book of Celtic Wisdom, by John O'Donohue

autumn's alchemy
                  by Christina Borgoyn

october flees with rotten leaves,
wanly wraith scampers across sky.
night hugs close in event of eve.

harvest sunlight pours over sleeves
soft white limbs kiss summer good-bye.
october flees with rotten leaves.

contour becomes shadow, believe.
'twas promised in spring I wouldn't die.
night hugs close in event of eve.

bleak heavens of god's face, doth he heave?
stay for winter? no, I defy.
october flees with rotten leaves

withered tree, what moon you conceive;
I've not lost my breastful of cries.
night hugs close in event of eve.

wind picks at bones & flesh that grieve;

soothe god's given name till earth dries.

october flees with rotten leaves
night hugs close in event of eve.
