I feel my fate; my fate finds me.
I feel my star; my star finds me.
I feel my aims; my aims find me.
My soul and the world are one...
Life will be clearer around me.
Life will be more burdensome for me.
Life will be richer for me.
-Rudolf Steiner

OPEN ARMS WILL WELCOME YOU ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
Open Arms is a lively discussion group that meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM, usually at the homes of various Companions. We typically share a meal, often provided by the host (or carry-out), and then watch a video that leads into a discussion of the topic presented on the video. Over the years these groups have included reading and discussing a book of the Bible, watching the Living the Questions series, etc. and sharing about our lives. Discussion, fun, and getting to know each other better are always part of the evening. For more information contact Pastor Wayne at SchwandtW@aol.com.

BRING IN THE CLOWNS!
The spirituality of a clown from Sylvia Oliva
A friend of mine who is a member of the religious congregation called the Little Sister of Jesus, recently sent me these words written by a Little Brother who works as a clown. I like what he wrote:
"when I am performing, I feel as if it is a moment of prayer, something mystical. It is not easy to express what I perceive and experience deep inside of myself... but I know that it is prayer... a moment of interior harmony, a magical moment, a contemplative moment. When I appear in front of the audience, I feel fully with God while I'm performing. Yes, it is possible to pray while clowning... yes, it is possible to contemplate while looking at God's creatures in front of you... yes, it is possible to pray and contemplate dressed in a colorful clown costume and makeup... yes, it is possible to be in communion with all those around you. A chapel or church is not necessary for living of God and with God."

Do you use iGive.com to shop online?
If you answered "no" to one or both of those questions, you are missing out on donations to help fund our ministry. Talk with Pastor Wayne if you need technical assistance under- standing how to do these passive donation options for YOUR community.
Other Ways to Support our Ministry:
Books for sale at our welcome table
Titles by Matthew Fox, John Shelby Spong,
Marcus Borg, and others, and
Rick Dove's cards with beautiful nature photos
And remember, your used cell phones and empty ink jet and toner cartridges can also help fund our ministry. These items fit nicely in the offering basket along with remembrance of time and talent you have offered to our ministries and your financial gifts. Bring them to Gathering with you.

Recalling Pastor Wayne's Reflection of last Sunday, "What's Next?"
from Sylvia Oliva
After celebrating and giving thanks for what we have been and done the past 15 years and for all we have received from others, we begin a new phase of our journey together. We are all invited to share our insights, perceptions, creativity and talents which will involve and evolve us into the future, as we move with the times and respond to a changing world. "Perhaps we have come to the place where we are for just such a time as this," as the song goes!
To get our creative juices flowing, you might like to--as Pastor Wayne suggested--fill in the words to make an acronym out of EVOLVE. Below is my attempt at this. Please send yours to EvolveSylvia@gmail.com for inclusion in the newsletter.

Vision How would you do it?
Oneness Please send me your ideas to share.
