So to breathe in and be aware of your body and look deeply into it and realize you are the Earth and your consciousness is also the consciousness of the earth. Not to cut the tree, not to pollute the water, that is not enough.... When we recognize the virtues, the talent, the beauty of Mother Earth, something is born in us, some kind of connection, love is born.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh: Connect With and Love Mother Earth to Heal the Planet

Dinner and a Show June 13, 2013 Join Evolve Chesapeake at Toby's Dinner Theatre in Columbia, MD for a performance of In the Heights, the 2008 Tony Award winning musical, set in New York City's Washington Heights neighborhood. A place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythms from three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. What could be better than a great dinner and show in the company of your friends? Knowing that you're helping out Evolve Chesapeake with the purchase of your ticket! The show date is Thursday, June 13. Tickets are $51.00. The cost of the ticket includes the show, dinner, coffee/tea, taxes and gratuity. A cash bar is available. And speaking from experience, there isn't a bad seat in the house. Why not get a group of your friends together and join us for the show? For details, call or email Beth Lanier and let her know you're interested. 410-610-2327 EvolveBeth@gmail.com Checks may be made payable to Evolve Chesapeake. Send payment to Evolve Chesapeake, PO Box 6159, Annapolis, MD 21401. Online payments may be available in the near future for a small processing fee.

Reflections from Erine Sedicum April 22, 2013
Page 186 of Eat Pray Love had an interesting question, "How do the survivors of terminated relationships ever endure the pain of unfinished business?" It is a simple question but makes one think. In my case, the question made me think of my Mom as our unfinished business was spoken and unspoken promises. I lost her in 2000 but it took until 2012 for me to let her go and accept someone else as a motherly figure, and it was an honor to have my step-mom take her place.
To resolve my unfinished business, I wrote letters like to the living. I would ask questions, make comments, ask advice, and general updates. For the most part, it was helpful but also a challenge to what was coming out. The letters were more like private conversations between daughter and mom, the conversations I

would never have. There were
times when I could barely get through the letters without crying. It was like she was right
there and there was something special happening. The one thing I realized is I'm my Mother's Daughter and that's something I would never change.
This December, I wrote my 1st Dear/Dearest Mom Letter to a living Mom. Mom is now a memory and memories, items, smells, and situations like aging Moms with Daughters are handled much better. What a great question, and how we learn to solve it ourselves is a gift not to be taken for granted.

If you answered "no" to one or both of those questions, you are missing out on donations to help fund our ministry. Talk with Pastor Wayne if you need technical assistance understanding how to do these passive donation options for YOUR community.
Other Ways to Support our Ministry:
Books for sale at our Welcome Table
Titles by Matthew Fox, John Shelby Spong, Marcus Borg, etc.
Note cards for sale with beautiful photography by Rick Dove.
Also, your used cell phones and empty ink jet and toner cartridges can also help fund our ministry. These items fit nicely in the offering basket along with remembrance of time and talent you have offered to our ministries and your financial gifts. Bring them to Gathering with you.

Food Bank Collection Help those in need by bringing to our Sunday gathering, an item or two for the local food bank when you can. Most welcome are pantry staples (tinned meat and fish, boxed pasta products, infant formula, etc.) and personal care products such as laundry detergent, toilet paper, disposable razors, bath/shower soap, deodorant, dish soap, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products. Collection is ongoing every Sunday.

Prayer from the Anishinabe, or Ojibwa, tradition:
Grandfather,
Look at our brokenness. We know that in all creation Only the human family Has strayed from the Sacred Way. We know that we are the ones Who must come back together To walk in the Sacred Way. Grandfather, Sacred One, Teach us love, compassion, and honor, That we may heal the earth And heal each other.

COVENANT CANDLE UPDATES
Zybia "Cy" Hosley
April 24, 1920-January 8, 2013
Sunday, April 21, we dedicated a panel in memory of Cy during our Sacred Gathering. Gifts were made in his honor to both the General and Building Funds, which are remembered by the panel's presence in our Covenant Candle and eventually in the Covenant Window.
During Sunday's gathering, Adri also shared the text of the eulogy she wrote and delivered at her father's memorial service on Thursday, April 18. This Sunday we will dedicate a panel in memory of Robert Brian Eathorne, and Companions are invited to make a gift to the General or Building Fund in memory of him.
On Sunday, May 5, we will dedicate a panel to celebrate the marriage of Adri Eathorne and Kim Hinken. In lieu of wedding gifts, they have asked that gifts be made to either the General or Building Fund.
