Christianity is the pathway I walk into the mystery of God,
but I do not think for a moment that God is a Christian!
No human religious system can ever capture
the truth and essence of God.
So I continue my journey inside the Christ path
and then beyond the Christianity
that I both know and treasure
and in which I was raised.
I invite you to join me in the journey,
bringing with you all the challenges you have
to the forms of yesterday.

Community Retreat: March 8-10
 | The Rev. Dr. Wayne Schwandt, our Pastor
|
Our Pastor and Board are providing and planning for us an important retreat in Greenwell State Park in Hollywood, Maryland. The tone was set during our recent INvent-Co- Create Season. Now we will come together the weekend of Friday, March 8 until Sunday, March 10 early afternoon, to explore and share about our spiritual paths, the efforts that enrich us, and those practices that diminish our awareness of our own holiness. This process will help us discern how we're called to continue evolving together into the deep dreams and big hopes we have for our future. It will be fun and it will re-energize us for the journey. Cost of the weekend for lodging, food and materials is $125 per person and can be paid in installments, so long as the balance is paid before retreat weekend. The facility will be available after 2 PM on Friday, the 8th of March. Click here for more information about Greenwell State Park. The excitement is building! We hope that all who can, will come. Each and every one in our community is important. "Carpe diem!"

OPEN ARMS MEETING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26
Open Arms is a discussion group that meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM, usually at the home of various Companions. We share a meal, often provided by the host, or a carry-out. Discussion, fun, and getting to know each other better have always been a part of these groups. For details contact Pastor Wayne at SchwandtW@aol.com. ALL are welcome!

Food Bank Collection Help those in need by bringing to our Sunday gathering, an item or two for the local food bank when you can. Most welcome are pantry staples (tinned meat and fish, boxed pasta products, infant formula, etc.) and personal care products such as laundry detergent, toilet paper, disposable razors, bath/shower soap, deodorant, dish soap, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products. Collection is ongoing every Sunday.

Feedback from G.A.I.N.'s * February Board Meeting Low-cost or no-cost health care and food help available
Tom Leitzer gave a presentation on Medicaid services. He is from Priority Partners, one of the Managed Care Organizations authorized by the State of Maryland to provide health services for Medicaid recipients in our State. Priority Partners is owned by Johns Hopkins Health Care LLC. As many as 700,000 Marylanders in need of health care and/or food distribution are not yet being served. Contact Tom at 410-762-5342, or at tleitzer@jhhc.com, or go online to www.ppmco.org (Priority Partners Managed Care Organization). He will be glad to help you determine if you qualify and sign you up for low-cost or no-cost benefits and services. Please share this information with anyone you think could use it.
Family picnic in Gambrills The Islamic Society of Annapolis wants to invite GAIN members and their faith groups to a family picnic at their learning center and mosque in Gambrills, Maryland. This will likely be sometime this April and will be a good opportunity to get to know our Moslem Community better. More to follow.
Earth Day April 28 GAIN is getting ready to participate in the Earth Day celebrations on April 28th at the Annapolis Town Center. There may be ways Evolve Chesapeake can participate. * Note: Evolve Chesapeake is a member of GAIN (Greater Annapolis Interfaith Network). Sylvia Oliva is the contact person and welcomes your ideas and concerns, etc. for GAIN.

The Wind Song...
by Erine Sedicum
The Wind sings a song, dancing with the branches making sweet music that doesn't sound the same with each note of its song quietly, quietly in my heart.
The Wind sings a song, sweeter than the birds as each song changes when contact is made with the wood, leaves, and windows as I quietly dance.
I hear The Wind -- It sings a song...
Footnote: If anyone can put music to it...it would great. Thank you in advance. Erine
