Erine reflects on our Sacred
Gathering of February 10, 2013
When it was sent that our service would be about Love led by Dave... I didn't know what to expect.  To my surprise, there were Valentines on the table, and bags with names on the front table.  I liked that we shared the Bible quotes and the quote about Love that spoke to the community member.  I liked it didn't feel like church...yet it felt like Love (Agape).  It was a true love and when a community has it --- it has everything!!!

Making Valentines took me back to another time, too many, many years ago, and I was happy to visit.  It was a challenge to pull out that inner child...the adult world steals it and turns it bitter and cold.  I'm so thankful for a few moments with my inner child as she remembers and cares for the things lost in Candyland (Yes, I still love that game).

My most favorite moment of the service was "All You Need Is Love" and, of course, the YouTube music stopped in the middle of the song, and Adri said to continue on...  With only our voices we continued,  it was then it clicked...We made Sweet Love together...  We are Evolve... We are Love and "There's nothing you can do that can't be done."  Love, Love, Love...

Community Retreat:  March 8-10

Greenwell State Park
Our INvent-Co-Create Season has set the tone for our weekend retreat in beautiful Greenwell State Park in Hollywood, Maryland.  Coming together on Friday, March 8 until Sunday, March 10 early afternoon, we will explore and share about our spiritual paths, the efforts that enrich us, and those practices that diminish our awareness of our own holiness.  It's going to be a wonderful opportunity to help us continue evolving together towards the deep dreams and big hopes we have for our future, and we will have fun together. We hope that all who can, will come.  Cost of the weekend for lodging, food and materials is $125 per person and can be paid in installments, so long as the balance is paid before retreat weekend.  The facility will be available after 2 PM on Friday, the 8th of March.

Women's Spirituality Group

to meet Tuesday, February 19

Our  women's spirituality group has begun and is meeting at the home of Kathy Baker in Edgewater.   Our focus will be on ways of connecting to the divine.  Each week several topics about spirituality and women will be discussed, and each week a different form of meditation will be shared in order to learn about them and to try them out.  The group meets twice a month on a Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.  The next meeting will be February 19th.  The Women's Spirituality Group will likely continue to meet for several  months.

Here is what Kim said about their first meeting:  "I felt very comfortable and safe at the group.  I left that night feeling extremely relaxed and peaceful.  The experience was both refreshing and enlightening.  I'm looking forward to our next gathering on Feb 19th.

If you are interested, email Kathy Baker at k3b@comcast.net.

The gift of love
is the gift of the power and capacity to love,

and, therefore, to give love with full effect
is also to receive it.
So, love can only be kept by being given away,
and it can only be given perfectly when it is also received.

  Community Dialogue on Death Penalty

at
Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis

Speakers from each side will briefly state their case for either repeal or to keep the death penalty.  The remainder of the evening will consist of participants sharing their thoughts and concerns in small-group facilitated discussions.

Goal:
Opportunity for citizens with differing viewpoints to share ideas, listen and learn from each other, and to come away with a greater understanding of another perspective.
