Trinity Church in Menlo Park

I am so grateful for all of you who participated in our Planning Extravaganza last Sunday.  We had over 70 people gathered into five groups, brainstorming the best ways to continue to build up the ministry and vitality of Trinity Church.   About 20 people volunteered to serve on five Core Teams, that will carry forward the next step of this long range planning process.   We will be communicating later in May with the congregation about what came out of the Planning Extravaganza, and then in September, we will be able to share the three year plan in its final form.  Thank you so much for being  part of this process.

This Sunday, we look forward to welcoming the Rev. Andy Shamel, Chaplain of the Episcopal Ministry at Stanford.   Andy will be preaching at our 10:00 am service, and will also be inviting us into ways in which we can support the Diocese of California's ministry at Stanford.  Please plan to join us, as we give Andy a warm Trinity welcome.

This Sunday moves us into May, which includes a couple of particularly special Sundays.  On May 15, we will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, which marks the end of Easter season.  Pentecost celebrates the gift of the Spirit that animates the life of the church, leading us ever deeper into the mystery of God in Christ.  The 10:00 am service that day will include the celebration of Baptism and the welcoming of new members.   Then, on May 22, we will celebrate our annual Festival of Music, highlighting and giving thanks for our rich and diverse music ministry and the people who make it possible.

What a privilege it is to be a part of this wonderful Trinity community.

Peace,
MatthewSignatureGenuine
