This is the weekend Daylight Savings Time begins!  Don't forget to set your clocks AHEAD one hour when you go to bed Saturday night!

This Saturday, March 12, is the annual Pancake Breakfast offered by the Boy Scout Troop that makes Trinity their home.  Breakfast is offered from 8:00 am to Noon in Trinity Hall, and tickets are available at the door.  Come out this Saturday and support the Scouts!

This Sunday is the Fifth Sunday in Lent, the last of the season before Holy Week begins next Sunday.   This week will be the last installment of our Lenten Program series, with our final sessions being offered after the lunch that follows the 10:00 am service.

This Sunday is also our monthly offering of Taizé Eucharist at the 5:05 service.  We are making this monthly service of chant, prayer, and Eucharist friendly to 12-Step group participants, and so we are using grape juice for this service rather than wine.  Please note that this will be the last 5:05 service until after Easter.   There will be no 5:05 on Palm Sunday or Easter Day.

I hope that you will make plans to participate in our Holy Week services this year.  The services of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday provide a depth and richness that heightens the experience of Easter.  This year's Great Vigil of Easter, celebrated on Saturday evening before Easter Day, will be particularly special.  We will have two baptisms:  Eleanor Riley and Sarah Tkach.  A wonderful way to begin our Easter celebrations.

You can find our Holy Week and Easter service schedule here.

Once again, thanks to the efforts of Holly Tambling and her family, we will be doing an Easter Basket Build in Trinity hall on Saturday, March 19, beginning from 10:00 am to Noon.  The baskets go to children at Haven House and other shelters.  This is a great outreach project for all ages.

Peace,
MatthewSignatureGenuine

Women's Retreat Registration Open until March 18th

Women of Trinity are invited to the Spring Women's Retreat at San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville. This year's retreat is "Spiritual Stories" where we will be exploring our own spiritual autobiographies and the stories and events that shape our spiritual lives. Registration is available online here. If you have questions please contact Rev. Elizabeth.

OWLS Luncheon
Friday, March 11, Noon, Angus Hall

Please join us on Friday March 11th, at noon for another wonderful opportunity to learn about one of the special programs offered to our parish community here at Trinity.
Sally Mancini will be our speaker, telling us about "Stephen Ministry". It is a lay-based support system for parishioners with pastoral needs. The clergy pairs up individuals with Stephen Ministers who then become the parishioner's long-term prayer partner and supporter.

Please contact Alecia in the office to let us know if you plan to join us for this informative presentation. Lunch is always provided for attendees, so don't miss out joining OWLS on this date.

March 12: Boy Scout Troop 206 Pancake Breakfast

Come join us for pancakes and all the fixings in Trinity Hall!  Troop 206 is having their annual all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 12, from 8am to Noon. Proceeds go toward the Scouts' summer trip to Camp Meriwether on the Oregon Coast. Webelos: Come visit and learn about the fun adventures in Troop 206.

Tickets on sale after the 10am Service on Feb. 21 and March 6. $5.00 for 1 adult or 2 children 10 and younger.  Webelos and Cubs in uniform eat for free.

Easter Memorials
due March 13

There are opportunities every Sunday for people to make contributions for flowers and/or music to honor God and give thanks for all sorts of occasions (births, anniversaries or birthdays, memorials to loved ones who have died) or to honor a particular group of folks (the clergy and staff, the Family Ministries Commission, the Altar Guild, etc.). At Easter, with all the special music and floral decorations, many such memorials can be made by many different people to celebrate the event and help defray the extra cost of the celebrations. If you wish to honor God and give thanks for any special persons or events this Easter, we encourage you to do so.  The form for Easter Memorials can by found in the News and Announcements on Sunday mornings or download here.
Easter Basket Build
March 19  10-12 pm

Join us on Saturday, March 19th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm for our annual Easter Basket Build!  We will assemble upwards of 300 baskets for the kids in the Haven House Shelter and other Peninsula shelters.  This is a fabulous Trinity tradition that is great for all ages.  Come for the whole morning, or drop by for a little while.  Lots of hands will make quick work.  Our thanks to Holly Tambling and the Tambling Family who got this started at Trinity several years ago.  Come and help us spread Easter joy to children whose lives are not nearly as joyous as they should be.

Sign Up for Night Watch
9pm Maundy Thursday, March 24 to 7am Good Friday, March 25

At the end of the Maundy Thursday service, after the Stripping of the Altar, the Reserved sacraments will be taken to the Chapel and NIGHT WATCH will begin.  We need at least 2 people for 1-hour slot but you can sign up for as many hours as you would like.  The Chapel doors will be kept locked during each session. The watchers can pray in silence, read scripture, walk the labyrinth, sing hymns together or a combination of things as they choose.  Please sign-up with Alecia in the Church Office.

Palm Cross Making
March 19 at 9:30 am

The Altar Guild will be making palm crosses on Saturday, March 19th  in the Tierney Room starting around 9:30 a.m.  If you would like to help the Altar Guild, we will be happy to teach you how to make them.  Please bring scissors along if you can.  Coffee, tea, juice and goodies will be provided.
