This Sunday is the Fourth Sunday in Lent, meaning Easter is only three weeks away.    This week, we will hear Jesus' powerful parable of the prodigal son, a deeply moving story about the depth of God's love and forgiveness.  St. Paul, in his Second Letter to the Corinthians, challenges us to share with others this same depth of love, as he urges us to no longer look at others from our human point of view, but rather with the eyes of God.

We have also been excited about the fantastic participation from so many of you in this year's Lenten program.  The program continues this Sunday for its third session out of four.  You can learn more about our program on the website's Lent and Holy Week page, which you can access here.

This Sunday is the last for collecting shoes for our Shoes for Refugees Project.  The shoes will head to Greece on March 12. You can learn more about that project on this page, and in the article below.   If you don't have a chance to purchase shoes to bring this Sunday, you can always makes financial donation through the project web page.  And remember, the Outreach Commission will match donations dollar for dollar up to $2500.

Peace,
MatthewSignatureGenuine

This last offering will be for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade.  Youth are invited and encouraged to participate in one of the other offerings.  Child care will be provided for little ones. More information for each class and our Lent and Holy Week information is available on our website here.

Women's Retreat Registration Open until March 18th

Women of Trinity are invited to the Spring Women's Retreat at San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville. This year's retreat is "Spiritual Stories" where we will be exploring our own spiritual autobiographies and the stories and events that shape our spiritual lives. Registration is available online here. If you have questions please contact Rev. Elizabeth.

Help the Refugees
donations accepted now through March 6

This is the last Sunday that we will be accepting donations towards the Refugee crisis.

The exploding refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe has caught world wide attention. There is a very tangible way to send your love and show your support. Walking shoes for men are desperately needed as their shoes are sopping wet when they arrive on the Greek shore. The shoes will go to Lesvos, Greece on March 12 bringing your love and prayers in duffel bags of men's shoes.

There are a couple things you can do:
  • Donate walking shoes with socks with the size written on the inside of the tongue.
  • Or donate money to help purchase shoes.
The Outreach Commission will be matching up to $2500 of donations - please join us in helping the refugees!

OWLS Luncheon
Friday, March 11, Noon, Angus Hall

Please join us on Friday March 11th, at noon for another wonderful opportunity to learn about one of the special programs offered to our parish community here at Trinity.
Sally Mancini will be our speaker, telling us about "Stephen Ministry". It is a lay-based support system for parishioners with pastoral needs. The clergy pairs up individuals with Stephen Ministers who then become the parishioner's long-term prayer partner and supporter.

Please contact Alecia in the office to let us know if you plan to join us for this informative presentation. Lunch is always provided for attendees, so don't miss out joining OWLS on this date.

Supper & Lunch Clubs

What is a Supper Club Group? These are 7-9 Trinity adults who meet for a potluck dinner usually four times over a six month period. These groups are a wonderful way to get to know others in the church and they have been a Trinity tradition for years. What is a Lunch Club Group? Same idea as the supper group, but the groups will meet for lunch. (We are trying something new.) Groups meet in each others homes or at a restaurant. If meeting at a restaurant, everyone pays for their own meal. After you sign up, your group captain will schedule the first meeting. After that, the organizing responsibilities are divided among the members.

If you are interested in joining fill out the registration form here or contact Lynne Bramlett.
March 12: Boy Scout Troop 206 Pancake Breakfast

Come join us for pancakes and all the fixings in Trinity Hall!  Troop 206 is having their annual all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 12, from 8am to Noon. Proceeds go toward the Scouts' summer trip to Camp Meriwether on the Oregon Coast. Webelos: Come visit and learn about the fun adventures in Troop 206.

Tickets on sale after the 10am Service on Feb. 21 and March 6. $5.00 for 1 adult or 2 children 10 and younger.  Webelos and Cubs in uniform eat for free.

Easter Memorials
due March 13

There are opportunities every Sunday for people to make contributions for flowers and/or music to honor God and give thanks for all sorts of occasions (births, anniversaries or birthdays, memorials to loved ones who have died) or to honor a particular group of folks (the clergy and staff, the Family Ministries Commission, the Altar Guild, etc.). At Easter, with all the special music and floral decorations, many such memorials can be made by many different people to celebrate the event and help defray the extra cost of the celebrations. If you wish to honor God and give thanks for any special persons or events this Easter, we encourage you to do so.  The form for Easter Memorials can by found in the News and Announcements on Sunday mornings or download here.
