Greetings!
We had a great turnout for the beginning of this year's Lenten program last Sunday. About 75 adults and children participated in the Lenten offerings. We are grateful for our hospitality teams and kitchen crew members who are hosting our lunches for these Lenten Sundays, receiving the food from the caterer and helping with set-up and clean-up. Regarding those lunches, we had a glitch this past Sunday -- there was not a good gluten free option nor a non-pasta option. We'll correct that for this coming Sunday, when our Lenten program continues. You can learn more about our program on the website's Lent and Holy Week page, which you can access here. This coming Sunday is also, of course, the last Sunday of the month, and so the Blue Grass Band will be leading our music at 10:00 am. Please note that there is NO Children's Liturgy at 5:05 pm this Sunday, due to the Lenten program. This week's 5:05 service will be our usual John Phillip Newell and Iona-inspired Lenten liturgy. We are also doing an early Lent outreach project to provide men's shoes to refugees coming from Syria to Greece. You can learn more about that project on this page, and in the article below. I hope you will support this outreach to refugees in need with a designated financial donation or by purchasing and bringing men's shoes and leaving them in the collection box at the back of the church. Peace,

Lenten Sunday Lunches & Programs Continues this week!
This week we will continue our Lenten Program! It will begin with lunch in Trinity Hall at 11:15 am, and our programs will begin at 11:35 am. We will finish between 12:30 and 12:45. There are three offerings:
- Being Mortal with Rev. Elizabeth
- Growing a Rule of Life with Rev. Matthew
- Exploring Communion for Children with Rev. Mary
This last offering will be for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. Youth are invited and encouraged to participate in one of the other offerings. Child care will be provided for little ones. More information for each class and our Lent and Holy Week information is available on our website here. We hope that this will be a great way to engage everyone at every stage of life in the deeper reflection that we are called to in the season of Lent. |

Help the Refugees
donations accepted now through March 6
The exploding refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe has caught world wide attention. There are many ways to respond to the needs of the refugees, from sending donations to the front lines in Greece to supporting the resettlement of refugees in the US. It can feel overwhelming!
But there is a very tangible way to send your love and show your support. Walking shoes for men are desperately needed as their shoes are sopping wet when they arrive on the Greek shore.
The shoes will go to Lesvos, Greece on March 12 bringing your love and prayers in duffel bags of men's shoes. They say that we have more compassion when we walk a mile in the shoes of others. Well with these donations, we will show compassion by providing the shoes!
There are a couple things you can do:
- Donate walking shoes with socks with the size written on the inside of the tongue.
- Or donate money to help purchase shoes.
The Outreach Commission will be matching up to $2500 of donations - please join us in helping the refugees!

Supper & Lunch Clubs
What is a Supper Club Group? These are 7-9 Trinity adults who meet for a potluck dinner usually four times over a six month period. These groups are a wonderful way to get to know others in the church and they have been a Trinity tradition for years. What is a Lunch Club Group? Same idea as the supper group, but the groups will meet for lunch. (We are trying something new.) Groups meet in each others homes or at a restaurant. If meeting at a restaurant, everyone pays for their own meal. After you sign up, your group captain will schedule the first meeting. After that, the organizing responsibilities are divided among the members.
If you are interested in joining fill out the registration form here or contact Lynne Bramlett. |
Women's Retreat Registration Open

Faith and Innovation Conference
Saturday February 27, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Silicon Valley has generated innovation affecting millions of people worldwide. But what is innovation without meaning and purpose? Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Saratoga is pleased to host this first annual conference which gathers innovators and the faith community to explore conscious innovation. Attendees will discuss questions such as:
- How does innovation affect or benefit the human community and the people within it?
- What are the implications of innovation in our daily lives?
Through presentations from innovation leaders and interactive discussion with participants, we will explore the nexus points between innovation, technology, and faith and how they may work together to further human connection and improve lives. Attendees will connect with others to generate ideas and create an ongoing community forum for exploring the significant questions regarding the impact of the gifts of innovation.
Register and learn more here.

Easter Memorials
due March 13
There are opportunities every Sunday for people to make contributions for flowers and/or music to honor God and give thanks for all sorts of occasions (births, anniversaries or birthdays, memorials to loved ones who have died) or to honor a particular group of folks (the clergy and staff, the Family Ministries Commission, the Altar Guild, etc.). At Easter, with all the special music and floral decorations, many such memorials can be made by many different people to celebrate the event and help defray the extra cost of the celebrations. If you wish to honor God and give thanks for any special persons or events this Easter, we encourage you to do so. The form for Easter Memorials can by found in the News and Announcements on Sunday mornings or download here.

OWLS Luncheon Friday, March 11, Noon, Angus Hall
Please join us on Friday March 11th, at noon for another wonderful opportunity to learn about one of the special programs offered to our parish community here at Trinity. Sally Mancini will be our speaker, telling us about "Stephen Ministry". It is a lay-based support system for parishioners with pastoral needs. The clergy pairs up individuals with Stephen Ministers who then become the parishioner's long-term prayer partner and supporter.
Please contact Alecia in the office to let us know if you plan to join us for this informative presentation. Lunch is always provided for attendees, so don't miss out joining OWLS on this date.
