Welcome to a new year!  I hope your Christmas and New Year's holidays were a blessing to you, and that celebrating the birth of the Christ Child has helped hope to be born anew in your heart.

As we enter a new year, we have a tradition at Trinity of celebrating a Public Service of Healing, which we will do at our 10:00 am service this Sunday.   This Sunday will also mark Rev. Elizabeth's return to Trinity following her maternity leave.  Join us as we welcome Elizabeth back into our midst, and as we pray for healing for ourselves, others, and the world.  Let us begin the new year holding the hope for healing for all people in our hearts and prayers.  We will also have our regular services at 8:00 am and 5:05 pm.

Since we are still a bit in "holiday recovery mode", there will be no children's or youth programs this Sunday -- those will return next week, on January 10.

Our offices will reopen this week, however, and our normal round of classes and activities will resume.

Peace,
MatthewSignatureGenuine

Annual Healing Service, January 3
At the 10:00 am Service

It has become a Trinity tradition on the first Sunday of the New Year to celebrate a Public Service of Healing as part of our 10:00 am service.   Please join us as we pray for healing for ourselves, each other, our loved ones, and the world.  It's a wonderful way to begin the new year.

Youth & Family Ministries Update

There will be no children's or youth programs this Sunday.  These programs will resume on January 10.

New Online Giving Platform

As we move into a New Year, Trinity has updated our online giving platform.  The new online giving system allows you to make both scheduled and one-time contributions, either by credit card or ACH transfer from your bank account.  The system is now linked to our contribution tracking system, so that any online gift you make is immediately reflected on your statement, which you can also access anytime from your account.  And it's all very secure.

To use the new online giving system, just click here and get started.

Rev. Elizabeth Returns January 3!

Elizabeth & Ellie

We look forward to the return of the Rev. Elizabeth Riley to work on January 3, having completed her maternity leave.

Welcome back, Elizabeth!!

Kent Smith, Senior Warden 2016

The Rector has announced that Kent Smith has accepted his invitation to serve as Senior Warden for 2016.  Kent will take office at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, and will succeed Alison Blank, who served as Senior Warden this past year.

Kent is beginning his third and final year on the Vestry, and was a member of the Executive Committee in 2015.  Prior to that, Kent served as Vestry liaison to the Buildings and Grounds Commission.   Kent has also served as Trinity's Treasurer prior to serving on Vestry.

OWLS Luncheon on January 8
12:00 Noon in Angus Hall

Please join us on January 8 at noon for Matinee Movie day. We will provide lunch for you while we all watch the inspirational film "McFarland, USA".

Starring Kevin Kosner, this movie is the true story of a struggling football coach and teacher who has had to move around because of different incidents in his career. He finally comes to one of the poorest cities in America: McFarland, California in the Central Valley. There he discovers potential in seven high school boys from local migrant families and slowly trains them into championship runners and one of the best cross-country teams. They even competed against Palo Alto High School!

We hope you will join us as we sponsor our second annual OWLS New Year's launch with a movie!

Please contact Alecia in the office to let us know if you plan to join us so we have enough food for everyone. Come a bit early so you can get lunch and be ready to watch the movie a little after 12:00, as it is two hours long. We will enjoy our lunch while we watch the film.

Hope we have a big crowd to enjoy this great day together!

Annual Meeting on January 31
5:45 in Trinity Hall

Please join us on Sunday, January 31, at 5:45 pm in Trinity Hall for the Annual Meeting of the congregation.  This is a time when we share food and fellowship together, and take time to look a bit at the year that has past and forward to the year to come.  We also say farewell and thank you to outgoing Vestry members and officers.

Please plan to join us!  Childcare will be available for those who need it.
