Dear Trinity Youth and Families,

Children's Ministry
See you this Sunday! This week Singing Saints and Acolyte Training kick off our Sunday morning programs this week at 9:00 a.m.
Godly Play and Explorers meet this week in Trinity Hall at 10:00.
This week's lessons are outlined below.

It's not too early to think about the Christmas pageant. If your child would like to have a speaking part in the pageant, please let Elise Jones know. We have six speaking parts. All speaking parts require attendance at rehearsals (12/6, 12/13, 12/20, and 12/24).

Youth Ministry
Youth group meets from 6-8 this Sunday.
This week we observed Veterans Day in the US-- a celebration of those who have fought in wars for this country. What do Christians have to say about war and how to we reconcile our capacity for war with Christian ideas? Join us for conversation about this question along with friends and food.

Questions or ideas, let's talk.  Contact Rev. Mary
With gratitude, joy, and blessings,

That was fun! Peninsula Episcopal Youth Disney Weekend!

Trinity Youth had a wonderful time in Disneyland last weekend with a bus full of Episcopal youth.  We made new friends and enjoyed a comfortable stay with our overnight hosts, St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church. Thanks to Meg Rorden for chaperoning!

 SUNDAY
November 15

9:00 Singing Saints and Acolyte Training

10:00 Godly Play and Explorers

Godly Play children will learn the story of Exile and Return.

Check out a video of this week's Godly Play story here.

Last week we shared the story of the Ark and the Temple and talked about meeting God in a special place and honoring God with certain routines that both honored God and helped remind the worshipers of the sacredness of being close to God.

At the end of the lesson, we read Solomon's prayer of dedication of the Temple, where he prays, "But God, will you really live here with us on earth? The whole sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you. Certainly this Temple that I built cannot contain you either..." This week, we think about this again as we learn about what happened when God's people were taken away from Jerusalem and its temple, which they had believed to be God's home.

Some themes parents may want to explore afterward:

* Where do we find God? What if we suddenly have no temple or tabernacle or special routines or things to honor God? Can we still meet God?

*What changes have you been through that have been hard or scary for you? What did you do? How might prayer be useful?

*What does it mean to be faithful? How is it different to be faithful in hard times versus in easy times?

Explorers will consider the places where we worship, have worshipped, and can worship.

In This Week's Gospel, A beautiful building, the Temple -laboriously built and the pride of the people is considered. Impressive now, Jesus agrees, but not one stone will be left upon stone. The kingdom he offers is not about fancy buildings. His kingdom will, however, remain after all else has been destroyed. In today's lesson we learn about the history of our temples, churches and cathedrals as places people used to express their love of God and their faith in God's power. But we know that God is not contained inside our buildings but available everywhere, whether we build fancy things for God or just love with all our hearts.

Some themes parents may want to explore afterward:

* Where do we find God? How can we meet God outside of church?
*What icons or structures or parts of our church building help you connect with God?
* What would you like church to look like?
