Greetings!

This Sunday is the last Sunday of the month, and that means it's our alternative music Sunday at the 10:00 am service.  This month, OMG will be leading the music.   Faith Full Families will meet at 4:00 pm in Trinity Hall, followed by our monthly Children's Liturgy at 5:05 pm.   Youth and Faith Full Families participants will dine together at 6:00 pm.  This means that there will be no children's morning program this Sunday, though the nursery will be open, as always.

Kate Dutton-Gillett will be exhibiting watercolor paintings
of favorite places in Florence, Italy, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Trinity Hall this Sunday.  Ron Valentino will be at the piano, and light refreshments will be served.  This is another sharing of something that emerged from our sabbatical time this past summer.

Next Sunday, November 1, will be our annual celebration of All Saints.  Special music from the Choir and Bell Choir will be included in the 10:00 am service, and we will also be baptizing Stephen Milburn, a new member of the Trinity community.  We will also remember at all our services next Sunday those whom we love who have died.

The 2015 Stewardship Campaign launched last Sunday, as we seek to raise pledges to support our ministry in 2016.  The theme for this year's campaign is, "To love and serve with gladness and singleness of heart."   We invite you to prayerfully consider how you want to partner with Trinity in 2016 financially and in other ways, as well.  Please visit the stewardship page on our website, view the short video presentation, and consider making your pledge online.  Pledge cards will be mailed to the congregation in a couple of weeks.

Yesterday, to heard from our Wardens about our search for those interested in serving as Vestry members or Diocesan Delegates.  You may learn more about these ministries, and the commitments involved, by clicking here.

And thank you for your support of Trinity, and for being a part of this community.

Peace,
MatthewSignatureGenuine

Stewardship 2015
To Love and Serve with Gladness and Singleness of Heart

This past Sunday the Stewardship Commission kicked-off the 2015 Pledge Campaign, asking for your support of our ministry in 2016. By now you should have received a letter from Rev. Matthew helping to frame how each of us partner in our ministry at Trinity. See letter HERE.

To learn more about how to prayerfully and thoughtfully consider your 2016 pledge, please visit the online presentation by clicking HERE.  This page also has a link to allow you to fill out your pledge card online.

Youth & Family Ministries Update

There is NO morning children's program this Sunday, through the Nursery will be open, as always.

Faith Full Families will meet at 4:00 pm in Trinity Hall to make comfort packets for the homeless.  Our monthly Children's Liturgy will follow at 5:05 pm in the Chapel, where the Singing Saints will be singing and serving as acolytes.  We will join the Youth at 6:00 pm for dinner.

Youth Group meets from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (thanks to Amy Parigi for helping out this Sunday!).

We are looking for people who would be interested in being trained as Godly Play teachers.
This is a great way to participate in the spiritual development of our youngest members -- and to enhance your own spiritual formation, as well!  Trinity covers the cost of the training in return for a minimum teaching commitment.  Contact Rev. Mary for more info!

Donor Sabbath @ Trinity on Nov. 15
Noon to 3 pm in Trinity Hall

The Bay Area association of Kidney Patients, in partnership with Trinity, is presenting the movie Perfect  Strangers on November 15 in Trinity Hall beginning at noon.  The movie tells the story of Ellie, who embarks on an unpredictable journey of twists and turns, determined to donate one of her kidneys.  Meanwhile, there is someone 500 miles away from her who endures daily home dialysis while waiting for that perfect kidney match.

November 15 is a national Donor Sabbath, a time to remember and thank all those who have donated the precious organs both in life and in death, and also an opportunity to remind people of the possibility of donating badly needed kidneys as living donors.

Reserve your seat for this event (which includes lunch) by clicking HERE.   If you need child care, please LET US KNOW (it's free!).
Scottish Christmas Concert @ Trinity
Saturday, December 12, 5:00 pm

Trinity will host A Scottish Christmas Concert on December 12 at 5:00 pm in the church, presented by Stewart Tartan Pipes & Drums (of which our own Stephen Milburn is a member!), with guest appearances by the Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers and the Piedmont Highlanders Dancing School.  There is no charge, but donations are accepted.

November OWLS Meeting
Friday, Nov. 13, 12:00 pm

Everyone is invited to the OWLS luncheon on November 13th at noon, to learn about the dogs and mushers of the Iditarod, the most famous of Alaska's long-distance sled dog races.  Our presenters will be parishioners Margie and Roy Stehle who traveled to Nome last March, to be at the finish line of this great race.  Please let Alecia know if you're planning to attend.

For those of you unable to attend the OWLS luncheon on October 9 (and even for those who did!), you may view the 25 minute documentary, The Story of Jughandle, by  clicking HERE.

Advent Wreath Making & Dinner on Nov 22

Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 22, at 6:00 pm in Trinity Hall.  Everyone is invited to join us for a Church Supper.  Along with our meal, you'll learn about Advent wreaths, how to use them for prayer at home, and you'll be provided materials to make one to take home.  The Advent season begins on Sunday, November 29.  This event will follow our monthly Children's Liturgy, which will take place in the Chapel at 5:05 pm.  Join us!

Rev. Matthew's Classes Have Begun, Audio is Available

During his sabbatical, Rev. Matthew embarked on a writing project in the hope of synthesizing the insights gained from his study of Richard Rohr, James Alison, and other mystics and theologians with his own experience of God and Christianity.  The result of this project is a manuscript about the spiritual journey from the smaller self to the larger self.  In the course of that journey, we encounter some critical questions about the nature of religion, the Bible, the nature of God, the life and teaching of Jesus, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection, among others.   In this offering, Rev. Matthew will be presenting and teaching from his manuscript about his own experience of struggling with these critical questions and the tentative conclusions he has come to about them.  Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback, and to engage more deeply their own spiritual journey and the questions that arise as we make that journey.

Classes are offered on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm with a repeat session on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am.  Click HERE for more information, and to access audio recordings of the classes.
