This Sunday, September 13, is Celebration Sunday with ONE service at 10:00 am.  This is an opportunity to bring the whole congregation together in one service as we kick off another season of ministry together.  We will have lunch together in the Courtyard after the service, musicians in the congregation are invited to jam on the Montgomery House porch, there will be activities for the kids, and there will be things to sign up for and information to be distributed.  And we are encouraging everyone to wear their name tags -- we have a number of new people whose names we are learning as they are learning ours.  Please plan to join us!

Our Hearts for Justice Conference is coming up on Saturday, September 19, and we would love your participation.  We could also use some volunteer help in welcoming people to our campus for this event.  See the article below for more information, and email Alecia McDowell if you can help, and see the article and registration link below.

Our All Church Retreat at Bishop's Ranch is also coming up on October 2-4
.  Registration is now open, and the time is growing short!  More information and the registration link is available here

CFI is once again sponsoring Compassion Games on Sunday afternoon, September 20 from 2 pm to 5 pm, with special guest Nimo Patel.  Click HERE for more information  or email CFI.

Hearts for Justice: Incarceration in Our Community
September 19th, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

We will once again be hosting a fall justice conference at Trinity. This year the topic will be Mass Incarceration and Restorative Justice.   Join us as we learn about incarceration and restorative justice in the Bay Area and beyond.  This event will feature a panel of local experts and dozens of organizations working to prevent incarceration, reach out to inmates, and support those re-entering our community.

Tickets are free but space is limited.  Childcare is available upon request.

Click Here to Register for the Event!

We could use volunteers from the Trinity community to help make this event just as successful as it was last year. If you are interested in getting involved, especially with ushering or hospitality, please contact Alecia in the office - and don't forget to save the date to attend the conference!

All Church Retreat Registration Open
October 2-4th at The Bishop's Ranch

We are just a few weeks out from our annual All Church Retreat at The Bishop's Ranch in beautiful Sonoma County.  If you've been before, you know what a special place it is, and how great it is to spend time relaxing and getting to know one another better.   We try to strike a balance between our retreat program and time simply to just be.

This year, our retreat is entitled "The Stories We Are",  and the programmatic part of the retreat will be led by Kristin Geiser and Robin Connell, two wonderful and experienced leaders who have had a number of interactions with the Trinity community over the past few years.  They will be leading us in some work and reflection on Story as a Spiritual Practice, Tensions and Blessings Inherent in Storytelling, and Going Forth First, Story Second.

Please plan to join us!

Small Group Registration Now Open
During the 2015-2016 program year we are inviting the entire congregation to join us in a small-group program.  For some time we have been discussing ways to increase the number of small groups at Trinity.   There are a few highly successful small groups already in existence, and the participants in these groups have consistently said that their groups are an integral part of their connection to Trinity.  We want these same opportunities for all Trinity members.

For more information on what small groups do, why you might want to join one, and how to join, please click on the link below.  That link also includes the sign up link.

Please note that one of the small group options is Supper Clubs, a program we have had for many years and is being folded into our overall small group program.  To sign up for Supper Clubs, please use the sign up link on the Small Group Website.

Youth & Family Ministries Update

Our Youth Group and Godly Play programs kick off this Sunday, September 13.
Children in kindergarten through third grade should be checked in to Godly Play in Trinity Hall just before the 10:00 am service, and kids in fourth and fifth grade should be checked in to Explorers class in Trinity Hall at the same time.

The Youth Group will have its first meeting this Sunday at 6:00 pm in Trinity Hall. This year, sixth graders are being moved into Youth Group!  We look forward to welcoming them.  The Youth will be having a Pool Party (along with their parents!) on September 20 at the Andrews' Home at 6:00 pm.

Our children's choir, Singing Saints, will begin on September 20, as well as acolyte training for our younger kids.  Children in 2nd grade and under will sing from 9:00 am to 9:30 am in Angus Hall, while kids in 3rd through 5th grades receive acolyte training.  The two groups will change places from 9:30 am to 10:00 am (the small children will be introduced to the idea of acolyting, and will be filling that role in the monthly Children's Liturgy until they are old enough to graduate to the 10:00 am service).

September OWLS Meeting
Friday, September 11, 12:00 noon in Angus Hall

Every month we OWLS enjoy a delicious lunch catered by the owner of Luttickens, and in September, our speaker will be Bob Lutticken himself. You won't want to miss this terrific presentation and find out his secrets about owning a restaurant and preparing all those meals each day for the Bay Area community.

Please join us at noon for one of Luttickens delicious luncheons, and hear from the one who helps make it happen.
Contact Alecia in the church office to let us know you're coming, so we are sure to have enough food.

This will be a great start to the OWLS Fall season. Don't miss signing up!

Spiritual Direction Opportunity
with the Rev. Gwen Hermanson Schaefer

Spiritual direction or companionship is a ministry of listening, discernment, and prayer in a confidential setting of encouragement and compassion.  The Rev. Gwen Hermanson Schaefer is a Spiritual Director-in-Training at Mercy Center Spiritual Direction Institute.  If you would be interested in exploring spiritual direction, Gwen would be happy to schedule an initial meeting to get to know one another and subsequently make a decision about whether to begin a relationship of spiritual companionship.  Meetings would take place monthly for about 50 minutes or as agreed, and there is no fee for these sessions.
