Upcoming AFM Meetings

The next AFM Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at 7:00 in the Band Room. I encourage anyone who wants to participate in the planning process for the upcoming spring and fall activities to attend.

The following Monday, January 27th at 7:00 in the Band Room we will be having our General Membership meeting. This is an important opportunity to hear about the plans and finances of the program.

Lastly, we are beginning to look toward next year and will need to fill a number of leadership roles. If you have interest in participating on the AFM board, or in any other leadership capacity, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,
AFM President

A new and very easy way to make $$$$$ for Amador Music.  Amazon.com has a concurrent web site:  smile.amazon.com, with all the same great stuff AND they will donate .5% of your purchase to Amador Friends of Music.

It's soooo easy!  So, as you do your holiday, and all other shopping, make sure you are on smile.amazon.com and have chosen Amador Friends of Music as your beneficiary.  Use the link above to go directly to the site where we are already the beneficiary.

Saturday, February 1st.

The Winter Percussion and Winterguard Show is just 2 weeks away!
This is the one of the largest Winter Shows in Northern CA and we need the help of the AFM community to make this event run smoothly. AVHS is proud to welcome 25+ winterguard units, almost one thousand performers and spectators, from all over Northern California to this event. The support of the entire community is necessary to ensure the continued success of this event.

To volunteer, please click here.   There are a wide variety of jobs and times available. AVHS parents will be able to see our groups perform.

Calling volunteers for the 39th Campana Jazz Festival
Didn't have time to volunteer during marching season? Enjoy listening to Jazz played by students who love to play Jazz?  Just want to pitch in where ever you can to help out a great cause?   If you answered "Yes" to any of the questions above, I have an opportunity for you.  I have open time slots after school on February 7th and during the day of the festival on Saturday February 8th.

The Campana Jazz Festival brings in middle school and high school jazz bands throughout the Bay Area.  It's a day full of great music.  If you can spare as little as a couple of hours, I will find a place for you.  I even have jobs that allow you to read while you work!  Please email me (mikeda_88@yahoo.com) with your time availability and we can work together to find an opportunity for you to participate.

Thanks
Marcia Ikeda
Campana Chairperson
