Invite Family and Coworkers to Order Scrip

If your family or co-workers enjoy giving gift cards during the holiday season, offer them a chance to shop with you!  Just take their order for vendors and desired quantities, pickup their payment, include their order with your order, provide payment in full to SCRIP coordinator, and distribute gift cards when the order comes in.  Save family and friends a trip to the store - and you get the savings in your student's account! Scrip can also be used for online shopping.

If you have questions, please contact Lorry Epps.

SMILE!!!!

A new and very easy way to make $$$$$ for Amador Music.  Amazon.com has a concurrent web site:  smile.amazon.com, with all the same great stuff AND they will donate .5% of your purchase to Amador Friends of Music.

It's soooo easy!  So, as you do your holiday, and all other shopping, make sure you are on smile.amazon.com and have chosen Amador Friends of Music as your beneficiary.  Use the link above to go directly to the site where we are already the beneficiary.
Congrats Marching Dons!!!

What a finish! Breaking a school record with high score of 92.05, sharing a 4th place finish and guard and percussion setting new high scores in their categories, championships weekend was a resounding success for the Marching Dons. Thank you to all of the parents who made the trip down to support logistics and/or to cheer on the band in the Sea of Purple!

Parade on Saturday Information is on Charms for this Saturday's Holiday Parade in Pleasanton. The band steps off near the back of the parade but to guarantee that you get to see the band make sure you are downtown at the time of step off as the parade moves quickly! I know there is a chance of rain on Saturday.  Please assume that the band is performing until you hear otherwise from me.

Busy on 12/9? Wind Ensemble 1 is preparing for a farewell concert at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore on Monday evening in advance of their upcoming trip to The Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Tickets are available here.

News from RA Land

Well, we have wrapped things up from our awesome performance in Fresno and are now looking forward to the Holiday Parade.  Thanks to so many folks for helping out with the trip and pitching in by loaning us stuff too!  We so appreciate all the canopies and coolers that were loaned to make our meals/snacks possible.

And now its time to tidy up the lobby of our music building and take our stuff home.  Yes, there are many coolers and canopies that are looking to go home and spend the holidays with their family.  Please make a point to pick yours up so we can start the new year off right-with things clean and tidy.

Hope to see you at the parade!

Grubmasters' Note

mini-pizza-spatula.jpg
Our sincere thanks go to everyone who helped us serve meals to the members of our band during the WBA Championship event weekend.  The great team of volunteers provided the coolers, canopies and many of the supplies used to serve the food along with the onsite help to setup, serve and clean for the Saturday night pizza dinner and the luncheon and dinner with cake on Sunday. A special note of thanks goes to American Stage Tours who provided the pizza dinner on Saturday night and to Kristen Dean who worked with her group of volunteers to provide the 400+ tasty sandwiches the band enjoyed for dinner on Sunday night.

We could not have done it without your help - AFM volunteers are the best!

Warm Regards
,Michael and Marianne Swailes
Help Us Send Wind Ensemble I Off In Style!!!

Amador's top concert band, Wind Ensemble One, has been chosen, through a rigorous audition process, to perform at the prestigious International Midwest Clinic in Chicago this December.  Only four high school bands were chosen from the entire country.  We are the first band to be chosen from California in 11 years.  Approximately 17,000 music professionals from around the world attend this important clinic.
We are hosting a farewell concert on December 9, 2013 at 7pm at the Bankhead Theater in LIvermore.  This concert is open to the public and will be a full hour performance of the program that we will perform in Chicago.  Tickets are $12 and you may buy them on line at this link or at the Bankhead box office.  All proceeds will support the trip.  Seats are limited, so buy your tickets now.  If you have questions, contact Sally Baker.
