Here we go Dons!

WBA Championships is here! The culmination of hundreds of hours of work is in finally here. Please visit the website and/or Charms calendar for the full itinerary.  Thank you to each of you for your support of your student and the band this year. We can't do what we do if you don't do what you do, so again, thank you.

Friends & Family @ 8:00 pm Thursday Come by Amador's stadium for the last home performances of both Amador and Foothill's marching bands in this FREE community showcase.  Students are to report at 6:30 pm in uniform, guard with hair and make-up done.

A look ahead... The Hometown Holiday Parade is Saturday 12/7.  All band and guard members participate in this event, which is a three-hour maximum time commitment on that evening. Students report at 4:00 pm for a short rehearsal and line up to march down Main Street!

Happy Thanksgiving I hope the week off is a restful one for each band family and I wish you the warmest of thanks for an awesome start to a memorable school year.

  News from RA Land!

Well, it's finally here!  The last week of the season, culminating with our performances at Friends & Family as well as WBA Championships in Fresno!!  All of the hard work our students have done will shine-both in front of our Pleasanton crowd as well as at championships.  I hope we will have a huge 'sea of purple' at both events in support of our students.

Couple of IMPORTANT THINGS: If you have any medications to turn into me, please do this BEFORE SATURDAY.  You can turn them in Thursday at Friends & Family or drop by my home at 1782 Paseo del Cajon but please DO NOT WAIT UNTIL SATURDAY as we are loading buses to take care of this.

Also, please read the rest of this newsletter to find out what your student needs to donate for snacks on the trip.  This is 300+ hungry students for a weekend in Fresno.  Please do your part and donate what has been assigned to your section
.
And, as always, many thanks to all that have helped me this season.  You are appreciated!

Amador's top concert band, Wind Ensemble One, has been chosen, through a rigorous audition process, to perform at the prestigious International Midwest Clinic in Chicago this December.  Only four high school bands were chosen from the entire country.  We are the first band to be chosen from California in 11 years.  Approximately 17,000 music professionals from around the world attend this important clinic.
We are hosting a farewell concert on December 9, 2013 at 7pm at the Bankhead Theater in LIvermore.  This concert is open to the public and will be a full hour performance of the program that we will perform in Chicago.  Tickets are $12 and you may buy them on line at this link or at the Bankhead box office.  All proceeds will support the trip.  Seats are limited, so buy your tickets now.  If you have questions, contact Sally Baker.
