EASY MONEY IN YOUR CHILD"S ACCOUNT

Shoreline Concert Opportunities

  green dollar signs

Would you like to earn money for your student's Music (Band, Choir, Strings) account? We sell food and beverages during concerts at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, and a percentage of the proceeds will go directly into your child's account. On average a parent can expect to earn from $70-$100 per event. Many parents have funded their child's entire annual fair share contribution by volunteering for some of these events.

If you are interested in an easy way to defray the cost of your fair share contribution, listen to some great music and have a fun time doing it, we are holding informational meetings to let you know about this golden opportunity

For more information, please attend the next short meeting (There is no obligation):

Tuesday, 11/19, 7:30PM, AVHS Band Room

We are looking at building a solid foundation for the 2014 concert season at Shoreline (April - October). There is no obligation if you attend one of our meetings.

If you have further questions or can't attend one of the meetings, feel free to contact Tom Coonce for more information.

SNACKS NEWS

As we approach the final stretch of the band season, I want to express my sincere appreciation to all the families that contributed snacks on Tuesday nights this season! It is hard to believe, but Tuesday night, November 19 is our last night for snacks for the season. I could not have done this without all of your help and I know the kiddos loved every last bite of those goodies!

Thank you again, and we will see you next year!!

Logan Invitational this Weekend

Please check the website and/or Charms calendar for itinerary information. If you are planning on going to the show I'd advise getting their early. The stadium is usually very full as the competition is a large one. Hoping for a great turnout the week before our trip to Clovis for championships!

FRIENDS & FAMILY TIME CHANGE Due to three soccer games scheduled on Thursday 11/21, the start time for Friends & Family has been moved to 8:00 pm. Gates will open as soon as the soccer game is finished (between 7:30-8:00). This FREE event is a season-ending showcase of both Foothill and Amador's marching bands as they prepare for their final shows at WBA Championships.

  News from RA Land!

We have a busy couple of weeks coming up so hold on!  This Saturday we travel by bus to James Logan HS and I still have some openings for Bus/Event RA's.  IF YOU ARE ALREADY CLEARED TO VOLUNTEER, please consider helping out.

Then its Friends & Family next Thursday night.  All the RA spots have been filled for that and I thank you!!  And finally, Championships in Fresno on the 23-24th.
Although all the RA positions have been filled for this also, we need lots of donations to feed our starving students.  (Aren't all teenagers starving?!) Please READ THE REST OF THIS NEWSLETTER and ASK YOUR STUDENT what they are supposed to donate.  Even if they have donated earlier in the season, we may need them to donate again for Championships. It's 2 long days and we want them fed and feeling good!  Please help out!

I hope you're all coming out to cheer our DONS on at Logan.  They looked amazing at practice on Saturday.  Can't wait to see them at the competition.  See you there!

Go Dons!!

mini-pizza-spatula.jpg

We continue to gear up to support the band at the Western Band Association competition scheduled the weekend of 23-24 November in Clovis, CA.  We have 3 paid individuals signed up for the pizza dinner that American Stage Tours (our wonderful bus company) is graciously providing for the students on Saturday evening after the preliminary competition.  Parents/siblings/friends/volunteers don't be left out.  For a minimum donation of $5.00/person extra pizzas will be ordered to feed our band family.

Also, 5 families with 14 paid guests signed up for the Senior Banquet & Band Lunch Sunday. We ask for a donation of $10.00 per parent or guest to help defray the costs of the additional meals.

Given there are less than 3 weeks till Champs, please see Marianne or Michael at the Tuesday evening practices or pre-pay by leaving your money with name, phone number and number of pizza or banquet tickets needed in the AFM mailbox located in the band room.

Volunteers are needed for meal (Pizza Dinner / Lunch and Senior Banquet, etc.), snack and cake service for our band members at WBA in Clovis.  We have signups open for coolers, canopies, table cloths, plates and utensils at  Volunteers: Feed the Band at WBA.
