Peter and the Star Catcher
"Peter and the Starcatcher", winner of 5 Tony Awards on Broadway, is coming to the Curran Theater in San Francisco! Amador Friends of Music is selling tickets for the first few rows of the balcony for only $60 a piece. Our show is Wednesday, November 27th at 8pm. It's the night before Thanksgiving, so bring your friends and family who are visiting for the holiday, it's only a short walk from the BART. You cannot currently buy these tickets unless you have an SHN membership. Thanks to the generosity of SHN in San Francisco, AFM can sell these tickets at below market value and make a healthy profit for music at Amador Valley High School! This show is for all ages and is a theatrical marvel. I saw it off Broadway and would be happy to see it over and over again. It's based on the "Peter and the Starcatcher" books by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, but having read these books is not a prerequisite for enjoying this show. The story is a prequel to the story of Peter Pan. It's called a "musical play", and while not a traditional musical, it does involve some singing and dancing. You will be amazed at the creativity and stagecraft of this unique show, so get your tickets now. The best seats will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Click here to buy tickets. There are a limited number of seats and the best go to the first to act. Questions? Contact Paul Unpingco.

Go Dons!!!

Marching Dons make their debut Friday night under the lights! Please check the Charms calendar for up to the date itinerary information for Friday's game. Thanks for all of your support and hope to see you this weekend!
Alumni/Reunion event a big success... Graduates for Amador Valley were in tears at hearing the beautiful music at the fairgrounds last Saturday. Thank you for the extra effort in getting your student to and from the fairground. The band was greatly appreciated and many alumni commented on how proud they were to see so many young people involved in the band.

It's finally here! Our first performance is this Friday night at our home football game! You don't want to miss it! Put on some purple and come on out and sit
at the far end of the bleachers with all the other parents. I promise it's an event you don't want to miss!
And speaking of events not to miss, our First Competition is Oct 12th. We will be traveling by bus to Gilroy HS. We will need lots of help to have our band looking their best to perform their best and you can help. If you'd like to signup, just click on this link. Specific job duties will be assigned later but you can signup to ride the bus and work the event NOW. (Due to a bigger band, all RA positions on the bus must be filled by an adult-18 years+)
Still looking for folks to help Mary Ann bring the filled water bottles to the events to water our students. This is a wonderful job to take on as a family and makes an important contribution to the band. Also, in need of some donations of licorice and tootsie rolls for treats after the games. Email me for specifics if you can help.
GO DONS!!

eScript, etc....
Just a reminder that you will need to RENEW your commitment to the eScrip program by November 1st. A percentage of the contributions from the eScrip program and Raley's will be credited to your student's account. The Lucky S.H.A.R.E.S program goes directly to AFM.
Go to www.escrip to renew, update or register your Safeway card, Gene's card, debit accounts and credit cards to your eScrip account. Our group ID# is 137117495. Take advantage of the eScrip Dining program as well as the eScrip Online Mall.
Gene's, which also is part of the eScrip program, and Raley's also have loyalty cards and as of now there is no cap to these programs. I encourage you to obtain another grocery card if you want to receive contributions to your student's account.
Enroll your Raley's Something Extra card at raleys.com/extracredit and designate Amador Friends of Music as your support group. If you already have a card and have registered it, let me know the number so that your student will be credited for your contributions. Feel free to email Doris Lem If you have any questions or need a Lucky S.H.A.R.E.S card.
