Join the Board!

We are seeking candidates for next year's AFM board of directors. A search committee has been established to search out talent. Please contact Joe Foos,  Terrie Bovaird, or  Lisa Amezcua if you have any interest in participating on the board next season. This is a great way to help guide and support all of our music programs.

Shoreline and Concord Pavilion

Would you like to earn money for your student's Music (Band, Choir, Strings) account? We sell food and beverages during concerts at the Concord Pavilion and Shoreline Amphitheatre? On average a parent can expect to earn from $70-$100 per event. Lady Antebellum opens the season April 25th and ends Late October with Neil Young's Bridge School benefit. Please Contact Steve Worth for more information.

DVD's on Sale!!

AFM is selling DVDs that contain all the shows from the last 4 years as well as Arizona field show and Phoenix parade for $20 as another way to raise fund. The DVDs will make perfect 'end of the school year gift' for your students or Mother's day or Father's day gifts for grandparents.

There is a new Head RA in town!!

Hi everyone! My name is Barb Kennedy and I will be the new Head RA starting in the fall. Thought we should get acquainted now as we're already making plans for next year.

First, my student, Jerad, is a sophomore and plays the Bari Sax. So guess I'm here for 2 more years.

Second, I have loved every minute of working with all of you these last 2 years and getting to know your students. I'm looking forward to another great year ahead.

And finally, it's that time of year where we look to get some commitments for next year to help out at Football Games or Competitions. If you have done this before, you know it's simple and very fun! If you haven't worked an event before, come on out! It couldn't be easier to do and it's a great way to get to know other band parents.

During the two weeks of MAY 13-MAY 24, we are running a competition between the classes to see which class can bring in the most volunteer forms. Yes, you can help the band out AND your student by simply completing the PUSD Volunteer Form and returning it. Click HERE to download and print a copy , have your student deliver the completed form to Mr. Grantham.

Whichever class has the most forms turned in, will win an Ice Cream Sandwich party. Hey, it doesn't get better than that!

Thanks in advance for getting those forms in!! See ya soon!

AFM receives $5000 Challenge Grant.

Looking for a way to help us leverage our fundraising efforts?

The East Bay Community Foundation has just offered us an excellent opportunity to double our efforts.  They have sent us a Challenge Grant where they will double any monetary contributions during the month of April only, up to $5000.  But we need your help.

If 50 families donate $100 each, or 100 families donate $50 each, we reach our goal.

Still haven't completed your AFM Core/Marching Band/Winter Percussion/Arizona donations?  Send those in this month and your donation will be doubled.

Get the kids in on the challenge as well - Impulse Donations:

  • Buying yourself a latte today?
  • Driving through your favorite fast food joint to pick up a quick meal?
  • Buying another app or song on your iPod?
  • Donate the same amount you spend on yourself with an Impulse Donation to AFM - just give the money to Mr Grantham and he'll make sure it goes towards the Challenge Grant effort
