Winter Guard shines yet again!

Wind Ensembles to share stage with Harvest Park Monday night... Come on out Monday evening to the Amador Theater for a free night of great music from Harvest Park's top symphonic band and both Amador wind ensembles.  The event starts at 7:00 pm and will be done by 8:30.  Doors open at 6:45.

Congratulations again! Winter Percussion brought home 1st place honors last weekend at the NCPA competition in Modesto and the Winter Guard brought home a 2nd place finish (out of 23!) at the WGI regional in Union City.  Both groups are preparing for the end of their competitive seasons and would like to invite all of you to come out on Thursday March 28 to the annual Night of Drums & Dance Community Showcase at Foothill High School.  The show is FREE and starts at 7:00 pm!

Next year's calendar More complete information forthcoming soon, but "Save The Date" for a couple of important events:

1.) Band camp this year will start Monday August 12.  Camp has been expanded to a two-week format for the upcoming year.  The week of August 12-16 (Monday-Friday) all band and color guard students will be attending
part-time rehearsals and uniform fittings 3 of the 5 days for a shorter period of time.

During the week of August 19-24 (Monday-Saturday) all band and color guard will be attending full time rehearsals all 6 days (as in years past).  This extended format will use the time of our ever-growing band more efficiently and effectively.  Additional dates will also allow the band to complete a larger portion of the competitive field show before school starts, giving us a significant advantage over where we have been in previous years.

2.) WBA Championships will be in Clovis/Fresno in 2013.  Please hold the weekend before Thanksgiving (November 23-24) for the state marching contest

Thank you for your continued support!

OOOhhhhhh....Say can you see the Amador Band kids playing the National Anthem at the A's Game?

 YES YOU CAN!

For the first time ever,  the Amador Valley Marching Band will be playing the National Anthem at the A's v. Angels game on April 30th. 7:05 Game Start.

Does your student want to play?  Do you want to attend?  Please download the form and return it to Mr. Grantham as soon as possible. Students and Chaperones must have a ticket to attend.

We will not be chartering buses.  All students need to be a part of a carpool/chaperone arrangement.  We have to be at the Coliseum around 4:15 to re-group for our sound check at 4:45pm.  BART is a 20 min ride. There is a 3:43pm train that day arriving at the coliseum at 4:08pm.

The students will need an additional $8 for the BART fee/roundtrip. Kids on BART will be grouped with a chaperone. We will also coordinate carpools. Parking is free that day... If you can help chaperone that day please let us know ASAP.

Update on the Raley's Something Extra card

As of February, Raley's has merged the Extra card and the Quality of Life card. I am no longer able to view individual account numbers and donation amounts. All I can view is the total donation for Amador Friends of Music. Therefore if you would like your quarterly contributions credited to your student's account, you must send me a copy of your quarterly statement which is at the end of March, June, September and December. These contributions are posted for 4 weeks after the end of each quarter. Otherwise all credits will go directly to the Amador Friends of Music Fund.

If you have any questions, feel free to email Doris Lem.
