AVHS Winterguard Show February 2, 2013 I would like to invite the AFM community to volunteer for the 2013 Winterguard Show. AVHS is proud to welcome 25+ winterguard units, almost one thousand performers and spectators,from all over Northern California to this event. The support of the entire community is necessary to ensure the continued success of this event.

Honor Band Accolades!
Congratulations to the following band members on earning spots in the NCBA All-Northern Honor Band: Eric Butler, Lillian Du, Jun Hong , Jennifer Jo, Austin Kim, Ryan Leung , Brian Lim, John Malchar, Tyler Nesci, Marcel Osborne, Gabrielle Widjaja, Andrew Yeung and Jacqueline Young.
Congratulations to the following musicians on earning spots in CBDA All-State Music Ensembles: Orchestra: Irene Kim, Band: Kevie Bovaird, Eric Butler, Annie Cai, Jun Hong, Austin Kim, Ryan Leung, Brian Lim, Tyler Nesci, Jennifer Wang, Jacqueline Young, Brandon Zhang and Yitian Zou.
Many schools often have one or two students earn spots in honor bands. It is a wonderful accomplishment that this many students from our music program have earned spots in these groups.

Bring Band Uniforms
By the time you read this, volunteers will have spent 2 days collecting uniforms. If your student has not turned in his or her uniform, please help them remember to bring it to school ASAP. (For tuba players, this means berets, too.) Thank you!

 The 4th quarter of the new Raley's Something Extra program has ended. In order to have Raley's donations reflected on your donation statement, please send me a copy of your quarterly statement from your Something Extra account, otherwise your donation will go entirely to Amador Friends of Music.
Here is how you can get the report:
- Log into your account at Raleys.com
- Click on "Manage your account."
- Click on "Extra Credit" and you will be able to see your contributions for 2012.

How can we connect with local community businesses? Share Your Connections.
We are so excited about the great support we are receiving from the Pleasanton community. We are asking for band families' support to help us connect with even more members of the community to support our financial needs. Joe Foos and Ellen McGraw have put together a sponsorship program and are eager, willing, and able to meet with community businesses. Will you share your connections? Does your company have an initiative to support community activities? Maybe you know band alumni who would be interested in sponsorships? Or you might know of local businesses that would benefit by promoting their services to the band community. Sponsorships are available from $500-$2500.
