Are you staying home in Pleasanton while the band is in Arizona? Want a way to help out and not have to leave your couch and cozy fire? Want a job that you probably won't have to do?

NEEDED: 20 Adults who can be members our phone tree in case of emergency.

WHEN: December 26th noon till January 1st midnight.

JOB DESCRIPTION: In case of an emergency you would be called by Steve Roesch, AVHS Band emergency point of contact,  you'll have a list of families (approx. 15) to call and give them information given to you by Steve. The list of families will be given to you before we depart.

PLEASE HELP Responsible Adults KEEP YOUR STUDENT SAFE AND PAIN FREE

 

The following forms MUST be in our medical binder prior to our departure for Arizona should your student need to take any prescription or over-the-counter medication such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen or Pepto-Bismol.  This form must be filled out annually and must be signed by your students doctor.  Click HERE for a copy of the PUSD Medication Consent Form . Have your child give the completed, signed form and any medication in original container directly to Mr. Grantham. 
 

If your student carries any life sustaining medications such as aninhaler, EpiPen, Insulin or Glucagon please click HERE to print out the form. Have your child give the completed, signed form directly to Mr. Grantham.

Tickets now on sale for the Winter Concerts!

Please be reminded that our ONLY rehearsal before we leave for the Fiesta Bowl National Band Championship is Saturday December 15 from 10-3.  We will be learning the parade routine as well as reviewing our award-winning field show.

Please read  this for important information on what students are to wear for Tuesday's concert.

Tickets now on sale for the Winter Concerts
at the Bankhead!
  
Our winter concerts will be held at the Bankhead Theater at 2400 First Street in Livermore. The Orchestra/Choir/Jazz "A" concert will be held on Monday, December 17th at 7:30 P.M.

The Bands/Jazz "B" concert will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 7:30 P.M. 

All tickets are $10 each and can be obtained in person at the Bankhead box office Tuesday through Saturday from noon until 6 P.M. without a service charge. Tickets may also be obtained by phone at 373-6800 or on-line at here.

A $3.50 per ticket service fee will be added to phone or on-line orders. The concerts will likely sell out and tickets may not be available at the door the night of the performances. Children under 2, who will be sitting on a parent's lap, do not need a ticket. Musicians performing in the concert do not need a ticket either.

Call time for all Orchestra, Choir, and Jazz "A" musicians is 5:15 P.M. Performers need to be in concert dress and bring a small bag dinner. Set-up crew will need to arrive at 4:30 PM.

Call time for all Band and Jazz "B" musicians on Tuesday, December 18 is 5:25. Set-up crew should arrive at 5:00.

We are looking forward to a great performance and hope you enjoy the show.

 

Professional recording of the concert will be available for purchase at the Bankhead! If you are interested in purchasing a digital download of Tuesday's concert, you will be able to do so on-site at the theater before and after the performance.  Sign-up will be in the lobby...look for AFM board members!  Cost to purchase the download is 10.00.  After the concert, your email will be forwarded to the recording company and you will receive the recording in your inbox!

 

Poinsettia sales a success! Thank you to Sher Butler for her help with the poinsettia sales!  For a first year in launching the program, interest was strong and many families were able to honor loved ones with this purchase.  Please remember to pick up your poinsettia on stage after the concert!

WANTED:

2 parents (1 per room) who can help backstage monitoring the green rooms (rooms where performers stay before they go on stage) at the Bankhead Theater for the Winter Concert Tuesday December 18th approx. 7:00pm . Unfortunately they would not be able to see the whole concert but we could make arrangements to make sure you are able to at least see your student perform.

The whole concert can be watched via telecast in the green room!  

Of course NO ticket purchase necessary for either/both of these options.

Fiesta Band Competition Snack Assignments by Sections
    

Each member of AVHS Marching Band & Colorguard Sections are to bring the following  snacks to the band room no later than Wednesday December 19th. Mr. Grantham will let you know where these are to be stored. Parents thank you for helping us provide the band with snacks for this trip and for reminding your student to deliver them to the band room by the deadline. Questions??  Contact Jody.

Bride of Frankenstein Posters and the Aerial Photo: if you ordered your poster and / or photo before the deadline this past Tuesday you can expect to pick up your copies at the Winter Concert on December 18th. If you are not coming to the concert you can arrange to pick them up at the Baker's home, contact Dennis. For those of you that missed the deadline, you can still order HERE. We will have the next printing done after the new year. It is possible there will be some extras available of either the Bride Poster or the Aerial Photos available at the concert on a first come first serve basis. Please come with exact change of $10 per print or make your check out to AFM.

Winter Guard pic

AVHS  Winterguard Show 2013
February 2, 2013 
 
Amador Valley will host their annual Winterguard competition on Saturday, Februrary 2nd.

The entire AFM community is encouraged to help the High School and Middle School Winterguard families staff this event.
In January, I will post volunteer sign up sheets on-line for parents. and in the band room for students. All volunteers will be able to watch the AVHS and Pleasanton Unified Middle School groups perform.
