SAVE THE DATE!

The Campana Jazz Festival is just 3 months away! It will be held on Saturday, February 9th - right here at Amador Valley High School. Jazz parents - take note your students will be scheduled to perform and be present throughout the day. Parent Volunteers are needed for all kinds of jobs, from hospitality to technology and everything in-between.  Say you'll help - and we'll find you a job suited just for you and your availability.  Please contact Marilyn Palowitch to volunteer.

CAMPANA JOB OF THE WEEK:  Campana Program Editor. Help from the comfort of your home! Using the 2012 Campana program file as your template, layout the program with new ads and new content, all provided to you. Much of the program layout stays the same, and content is updated with new dates, times, and information. It helps to know Microsoft Publisher, or to be comfortable with publishing software in general. The bulk of the editing is done in January, but you can  get familiar with file now.  Please contact Marilyn Palowitch for more information or to say "I can help!"  Thank you!

What a weekend!

Though we only got one chance to perform, what a performance it was at WBA championships!  The band and color guard turned in their strongest performance of the season and earned their highest score in the WBA for the year.  Thank you to all who helped coordinate and organize the hundreds of moving parts to the weekend and to those who came to support the band in Fresno.  We wouldn't be where or who we are if not for the Sea of Purple.
Fiesta Bowl National Band Championships up next! On the heels of our WBA championships weekend, the momentum is strong as the band continues in it's preparations to take a national stage at the Fiesta Bowl National Band Championships in December.  If you haven't checked, please note that we have one practice on the calendar (12/15) to brush off the dust on the field show and learn our parade routine for the competition.  There will be more information to come on the trip...stay tuned and Go Dons!

Holiday Parade on Saturday Students are to report at 3:30 in full uniform (and Santa hat or Yarmulke) to the band room.  The front parking lot will be blocked off so plan on dropping your child off in the Del Valle lot.  Students are encouraged to decorate their horns with lights.  It is supposed to be rainy on Saturday so stay tuned for any possible changes based on weather.  The parade steps off at 5:00 with Amador in the middle of the parade.  Students should be finished by 7:00 pm at the latest.

Looking for some help... I am interested in offering the band families an opportunity to purchase poinsettias in honor and/or memory of a loved one at the winter concert.  The poinsettias would be placed on stage as decorations at the theater and each family would have their name and their loved one listed in the concert program.   I need help with the coordination of this opportunity.  If this is of interest to you, please email me.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON RALEY'S SOMETHING EXTRA PROGRAM
As I was updating the donations for the Raley's Quality of Life program which is due to be phased out at the end of December, there were several new cards numbers on the list.  I called Raley's and apparently the Something Extra card numbers are also included on the list.  If you have the Raley's Something Extra card, please email me the card number and your student's name to Doris Lem so that proper credit can be applied.  For this travel year, 100% of your contributions will go to your student's account.

If you have not renewed your commitment to the eScrip program, your contributions have stopped.  It's never too late. You can go still go to eScrip.com, click on the "YES RENEW!" icon to restart your contributions.

Email Doris Lem with your Something Extra card number and if you have any questions regarding these programs.
