STEM Teen Career Expo Opportunities
Framingham
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is dedicated to increasing girls' awareness of and interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Join us on Sunday, March 9 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel for our Changing the World Through STEM Teen Career Expo. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers and trade show partners to fill the following roles:
Workshop Facilitators: Create and present one or more workshops in the STEM field of your expertise. Areas of special interest include chemistry, biology, physics and math.
Trade Show Business Partners: Provide hands-on activities or demonstrations to entice girls to pursue a career in your industry.
Trade Show Higher Learning Partners: Market your trade school, diploma program or college and help girls connect the dots from high school to career.

Troop Volunteers
various locations
Troop volunteers support and mentor girls in a group setting while they earn badges, attend council programs and participate in product sales. Troops are best led by a team of three or more adults. There are troops in your neighborhood or near your place of business that could benefit from your time and talents. Below are just a few of the opportunities available now:
Beacon Hill: Mondays (twice a month), 5:15-6:30 PM
Charlestown: Thursdays (twice a month), 2:15-3:45 PM
Troop volunteers are also needed in Allston, Dorchester, Roxbury, Somerville, South Boston, West Roxbury and communities near you. Please call for more details.

Series Volunteers

We are recruiting volunteers to work with girls in grades K-5 or 6-12 for an eight-week Girl Scout Series. We provide curriculum, training and support--you bring your enthusiasm! Series are led by teams of at least two adults, and there are girls in your neighborhood or near your place of business just waiting for you to step forward and lead. If your town is not listed below, please contact us to learn about opportunities in your area.
Allston: Thursdays, 3:30-5 PM
Brighton: Thursdays, 3:15-5:15 PM
Cambridge: Tuesdays, 5-6 PM
Dorchester: Mondays, 5-6 PM; Tuesdays, 3:30-5 PM; Wednesdays, 3-5 PM;
Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 PM; Fridays, 3-5 PM
North End: Wednesdays, 3:15-4:30 PM

Girl Scout Group Helpers
Lawrence
We are looking for volunteers to assist Girl Scout groups sponsored by a community organization and part-time Girl Scout program staff. Be that extra pair of hands and help girls complete projects or practice skills. There is no prep work involved--just offer your time and assistance. Staff will develop and provide program modules.
Tarbox School: Thursdays, 3:30-5 PM

Troop Organizer

Do you like to plan parties? Would you like a social volunteer position in your community that will benefit local families? The Girl Scout volunteer team near you is looking for a new member to help coordinate an information/sign-up event. The troop organizer will obtain flyers and other marketing materials from the council office and prepare an informative event for those interested in joining Girl Scouts. Following the event, you will organize girls into troops and direct parents interested in leading to the appropriate council trainings. These events can be held in the fall, winter and/or spring.

Service Unit Coordinator/Assistant Coordinator

Do you have the leadership skills to organize and guide a group of volunteers and build a strong Girl Scout program in your community? The service unit coordinator (or a team of two coordinators) is responsible for facilitating at least three local volunteer meetings per year to develop program and provide in-person mentoring. The coordinator will act as the liaison between Girl Scout staff and the volunteers in a specific community, manage a team of volunteers, recruit new volunteers and recognize outstanding volunteers. Training is provided and support from Girl Scout staff is ongoing. There are a number of communities looking to fill this position, including Concord/Carlisle, Marblehead, Methuen, Salem and Wenham/Hamilton.

Volunteer Cookie Cupboard Assistants
Middleboro, North Andover, Waltham
We are looking for strong (must be able to lift 30 pounds), organized, friendly adults to volunteer in our cookie cupboards. Responsibilities include greeting customers, counting boxes, filling orders, physically moving orders and simple paperwork. Hours are flexible during each cupboard's days and times of operation, beginning in December and ending in March. Please call for an interview if you would like to help thousands of Girl Scouts realize their cookie sale goals.

Volunteer Registrar
Concord/Carlisle
Help behind the scenes as the Girl Scout registrar for Concord and Carlisle. Work closely with the local council office, collecting and filing new member paperwork and distributing patches and other information to troops. This position does not require working with girls. All training will be provided free of charge.
