After arriving in Washington, DC for his first NDSC Convention, and being immersed in the convention crowd at the hotel, in a restaurant, on the street, and finally entering the lobby to register, Nathan (then 21) looked around for a moment, spread his arms wide and said,
"I'm good. I'm smart. These are my people!"
