NEW CAMPS AND SPECIALTY PROGRAMS

RAMAH DAY CAMP OF GREATER WASHINGTON, D.C.
New this Summer!
Ramah Day Camp of Greater Washington, D.C. got off to a great start this summer! Run by Ramah New England staff and based at Ohr Kodesh Congregation in Chevy Chase, M.D., the camp served 41 campers (entering kindergarteners through fourth graders) for a one-week session in August. Learn more �

RAMAH DAY CAMP IN NYACK
Ramah Outdoors, Performs, & Blasts Off!
Ramah Nyack launched three new specialty day camp programs this summer, Ramah Outdoors; Ramah Performs; and Ramah Blasts Off (rocketry and the physics of flight). Two other specialty offerings, Ramah Sport and the Sha'ar Hebrew immersion program, completed a second successful summer. Watch video �

RAMAH CANADA
Etgar Ramah
This summer, Ramah Canada launched the exciting Etgar Ramah program, with biking, hiking, gardening, and many other outdoor activities. Campers loved using the newly-purchased bikes and gear on the camp's brand new trails. Watch video

RAMAH DAROM
Yom Sport
On a very rainy Sunday in Session A, Ramah Darom hosted Yom Sport, inspired by the story of Noah and the Flood and run by the Gesher (oldest edah) campers as part of their leadership development program. After an early morning shower, the sun finally came out! Watch video �

RAMAH OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
Specialty Masa'ot ("excursions")
Chalutzim (campers) at Ramah Outdoor Adventure in the Colorado Rockies spend half of the summer on masa'ot lasting 1-5 nights each. Chalutzim choose among archery, art, farm, and horse masa'ot. The entire camp comes back together each Friday for Shabbat. Read more �

RAMAH DAY CAMP - PHILADELPHIA
Topsy Turvy Teva Bus
The Topsy Turvy Teva Bus travels across the U.S. powered by used restaurant vegetable oil. Campers at Ramah Day Camp - Philadelphia made pesto by riding a bike that powers a blender, and used a solar-powered oven to bake cookies! View photos �

RAMAH ISRAEL SEMINAR
New Seminar Outdoors Track
Kvutzat Shvilim enjoyed their three masa'ot tremendously. Their first masa included an exploration of the Upper Galilee along Shvil Yisrael, the Israel Trail. During Etgar, they challenged themselves with adventures in the Jezreel Valley and Gilboa Mountains. Watch video �

Kef B'Ivrit
Chanichim at Ramah Day Camp - Chicago area had a blast with the new Kef B'Ivrit program, which focused on integrating fun and games with Hebrew learning. Through innovative games and activities, chanichim actively improved their Hebrew skills while having a great time. Read more �

Intensive Hebrew Learning
Chanichim at Ramah New England had the opportunity this summer to participate in twice-daily intensive Hebrew learning facilitated by trained instructors from Ulpan-Or, a well-respected program based in Israel. Read more �

Female Empowerment Curriculum
This summer, girls in Solelim and Bogrim at Ramah Wisconsin had thoughtful discussions about what it means to be a female Jewish leader. Dalia Music Festival
Ramah California chanichim performed their edah songs and celebrated the beauty of Israeli music during the annual Dalia Music Festival, dedicated this year to the memory of renowned Israeli singer-songwriter Arik Einstein. Read more �

RAMAH JERUSALEM DAY CAMP
Bechira - Specialist Electives
Chanichim at the Ramah Jerusalem Day Camp spent the first hour of every day focusing on a specialty such as Ivrit (Hebrew), sports, shira (singing), omanut (art), rikud (dance), and drama. This gave campers the opportunity to learn and sharpen new skills in an activity of their choice. Read more �

RAMAH NOAM
The Ramah NOAM summer camp in Israel is run by Masorti's youth branch, NOAM, and provides a strong traditional and egalitarian Jewish community along with an Israeli camping experience. Ramah NOAM serves approximately 600 young Israelis each summer and offers programs for 5th-11th graders, as well as programs for campers and staff with disabilities. View photos �

RAMAH-UKRAINE
A Project of Midreshet Yerushalayim at the Schechter Institutes
This year, Camp Ramah-Ukraine played an especially important role in the lives of 135 Jewish children caught in the midst of a deadly war at home, as well as the worry for the safety of Israel and its citizens. The ten-day experience provided an island of tranquility, especially for those families living in war zones like Kharkov. Read more �
