Antal signs on to Mass. Council of Churches letter to Baker

Massachusetts Conference Minister and President Jim Antal joined other religious leaders across the state in signing a letter to Gov. Charlie Baker asking him to " reconsider your decision to stop welcoming Syrian parents and children into our state."

Reflecting on the Attacks in Paris, Beirut, Baghdad and Russia

Marisa Brown-Ludwig, chair of the MACUCC Ecumensim & Interfaith Task Force, writes: "We can't blame our religions for inciting this violence in us ... We can find texts in most holy scriptures about war and conquest but when you come down to core teachings of the world's major religions, love is at the center."

Hundreds brave the cold for Thanksgiving Angels program

Hundreds of the city's less fortunate Monday afternoon braved a biting November wind waiting to enter the rear of South Congregational Church in Pittsfield to receive donated groceries for a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner.

Scott Barton, a former bridge pastor at the First Congregational Church of Hadley, wrote a hymn in the wake of recent bombings in Paris, Baghdad and Beirut. He is offering it for congregational use. It is sung to the tune of PICARDY.
