Church for the Life of the World
At Super Saturday on March 21, The Rev. Ruben Duran, Program Director for New Congregations for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, gave an address entitled Church for the Life of the World.

In the United Church of Christ, we believe that God is Still Speaking, but a resolution proposed for General Synod will silence our collective ability to echo God's cry for justice.

Resolution 16, proposed for the 2015 General Synod, would prevent Synod from calling for the United Church of Christ to divest at the National level and in other settings.

Recognizing that, I want to encourage you to consider spending a few days (June 22-28, 2015) at Ghost Ranch in northern New Mexico engaged in a retreat with two of my friends/colleagues who will be joined by several Native American Elders to explore what it means to be an Earth Honoring Christian who promotes interfaith efforts on common earth issues.

Deadline for Haystack Award Nominations extended to May 18


Haystack The MACUCC Justice & Witness Ministry Council is requesting nominations for the 2015 Haystack Awards. This award was created to encourage participation in charitable and social justice ministry.
 

The application deadline has been extended to May 18. Awards will be presented at the 216th Annual Meeting of the Massachusetts Conference at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst following a luncheon on Saturday, June 13.
