Welcome to the AURA Newsletter!
|
AURA is pleased to present this month's newsletter recapping May's news and events to our most important supporters. It simply would not be possible to continue our work with refugees without your help as: refugee sponsors, volunteers, members, and/or donors.
As many of you know AURA held our Annual General Meeting in May, please click on the image to the right for a graphical representation of what AURA accomplished in 2013.

Around AURA this Month

We would like to thank again everyone who was in attendance at AURA's Annual General Meeting on May 12th at St Columba And All Hallows Church. A few of the nights highlights are below.
Board of Directors:
The 2014 AURA Board of Directors, from left to right: Kirk Merrett, Irmtraud Hutfless, Valerie Brown, Edith Ann Shantz, and George Cram.
Awards:
Director Ian McBride was pleased to select Irmtraud Hutfless as this year's Volunteer of the Year. Not only has Irmi worked tirelessly as a member of the Board of Directors, she has also spent countless hours working on AURA projects and programs.
For the first time in over a decade, AURA will be led by a new Chair of the Board of Directors. Diane Anger has dedicated much of her life to helping refugees by not only heading the AURA Board but also by leading her Church's refugee program. Diane was presented with an award of Special Recognition for all of her years of dedication to refugees.
