Welcome to the AURA Newsletter!
|
AURA is pleased to present April's newsletter to our most important supporters. It simply would not be possible to continue our work with refugees without your help as: refugee sponsors, volunteers, members, and/or donors.
For those of you who may have missed the previous announcements, AURA's Annual General Meeting will be tomorrow. Please see the invitation to the right for further details.

Around AURA this Month

April marked the end of AURA student program for the 2013-2014 cycle. All of our students successfully completed their placements with us. We would like to thank them for the hundreds of hours that: Anna Lundkvist, Meriana Matta, and Jyoti Adhikari worked during their placements with us. We truly wish them the best of luck moving forward, knowing they will all be very successful in their future endeavors.
AURA's community activity this month included being invited as a FaithWorks speaker to St. Martin-in-the-Field on April 6th, taking part in the Scarborough Clericus, and participating in a series of meetings in Ottawa with the SAH Council and Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Also of note, Alexandra Kotyk (our sponsorship director) was interviewed on the CBC radio program, As It Happens about "Syria's refugees and Canada's response." To hear the podcast go to: http://www.cbc.ca/asithappens/podcasts/ and download Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
