2013 will be the second running of the AJAA's Triple Crown Award. The animal that has the highest cumulative points from Synergy, AJAA Show and All Breeds will win a coveted buckle! You must enter all three shows to qualify. Good Luck!

Genomics Showcase- November 5-9
This collection of interactive displays, activities and informative presentations will showcase the latest technological advancements in genetic testing and demonstrate the importance of this science and its practical applications for producers. This year we've added live cattle to our displays. Animals will be judged based on their genomic profile for economically relevant traits. There will also be the opportunity to purchase a pen of these DNA tested, bred heifers during the commercial sale on Saturday November 9.
The Yards at Northlands- November 8 & 9
The enhanced commercial cattle program featuring Pens of 5 and 10 Bred Heifer Show & Sale and Pens of 3 and 5 Bull Show.
The Headliner Show & Sale- November 8
In this unique show and sale concept buyers benefit by sharing in the prize money when one of their purchases could be declared a Headliner Champion following the sale. Contact Bouchard Livestock if you are interested in more information; sale cattle selection will begin August 1.
Alberta Supreme- November 9
FFI is pleased to partner with the Olds Fall Classic and Lloydminster Stockade Round-up to create the Alberta Supreme Show, which will showcase breed champions from all three of the top cattle shows in Alberta to name two Alberta Supreme Grand Champions. The Grand Champions from all breeds and their owners will compete head to head for the Alberta Supreme titles and the chance to drive away in a brand new RAM truck.

NAAC Field Day
On June 22 2013 three of our NAAC members hosted a Field Day. The Day started at Goad family Angus, where everyone enjoyed a wonderful lunch and visited. After everyone arrived, we toured the Red Angus that the Goad family has spent many years putting together. Goads were pleased to answer any questions about pedigrees and explained how their program works. After touring Goad family Angus, we went to Country Lane Angus. At Country Lane Angus we went into a field and Archie called in all the cows. Everyone was amazed how quiet the animals were, there were heifers that were following junior members around until someone stopped to pet them. Archie had put together a spread sheet explaining the pedigree's on the cows and calves in the pasture. After we were done in the pasture we went to Country Lanes barnyard to look at his amazing group of bulls that he is raising. Our tour ended at the Everblack Angus Farm. We toured the Black Angus that the Gibson's are raising. They have a wonderful setup despite how muddy it was from all the rain they had received in the previous days. Our junior members enjoyed admiring the cattle and playing games that had been put together for them in the barn. At Everblack we had a delicious steak fry supper. The ladies had put together a wonderful meal and nobody left hungry. There were door prizes supplied by the producers and sponsors. We had over 55 producers show up to the event to admire the cattle. Some were purebred breeders and some were commercial breeders. It was a great chance for everyone near and far to get together for a visit and to look at the great quality of cattle that our Northern Producers are promoting and raising.
