Weekly Snapshot

As the saying goes... March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. This week, I thought I'd share some adventure-seeking activities while we await the start of spring. And it couldn't come soon enough.

Before you know it, I'll be sending out local beaches and the perfect picnic spots!

FoodFor the Foodie...

T
his week, I'm featuring the Upper West Side. Whether you are visiting Lincoln Center, the
American Museum of Natural History, or Central Park, here are my favorites for before and after.

Each week I'll continue to share my top picks for new restaurant spots in various hoods.

Bustan

Middle Eastern

487 Amsterdam Avenue

(at 84th Street)

The former chef of Barbounia has opened a restaurant with a dazzling, colorful indoor setting. I'm awaiting their garden area in the spring! Try their flatbreads, mazetti (hummus, baba and feta), and the whole baked fish... all cooked in the fueled wood and gas taboon oven.

Corvo Biano

Italian

446 Columbus Avenue (at 81st Street)

Steps away from the American Museum of Natural History is Corvo Biano, a terrific dining spot serving coastal Italian cuisine.  A charming dining room, perfect for a romantic evening sets the tone.  I enjoyed their signature grilled pizzas, Italian meatball sliders and roasted cauliflower. If you save room for dessert, I recommend the French toast ice cream.  A fabulous restaurant that blends the old and new of Italian lifestyle.

Red Farm

Asian

2170 Broadway (76th & 77th Streets)

Greenmarket sensibility and inventive Chinese cuisine. Modern, yet rustic décor is reflected in both the bar and dining area.  Lots of great recommendations such as vegetable pancakes and shrimp and mango dumplings. With spring around the corner (hopefully), their sidewalk café will be the place to be!
