General Events...
A festival celebrating New York modern design with panels and tours of the city's most coveted interiors. I plan to go this weekend to see both the homes in Brooklyn and Manhattan since I live in a contemporary loft. I'm sure I'll get great design ideas!
Known for being the largest street fair, Brooklyn's 39th annual Atlantic Antic is comprised of 500 vendors and 100 local retailer and restaurants. Stroll along Atlantic Avenue from Hicks Street to 4th.
Through September 29 PHOTOVILLE
Second annual pop up village at Brooklyn Bridge Park. All displayed photographs use shipping containers to feature artists' works as standalone exhibits. Music and food vendors will also be on hand.

All fashionistas will remember his name from The Devil Wears Prada! Exquisite photographs on display at the Stanley-Wise Gallery (560 West Broadway), known for its fashion photography and portraiture.
September 27 Robert Motherwell: Early Collages
Over 60 artworks will be exhibited when this opens at the Guggenheim Museum. Through January 5th.
A three day celebration of art, music and performances in one of Brooklyn's hippest neighborhoods.
October 1 to 5 LOOT: MAD About Jewelry 50 artists from 20 countries will display their one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces at this pop-up exhibition. This annual exhibit has added sizzle since the pieces are also for purchase!
October 3 to 6 The Affordable Art Fair Hosting 50 galleries of both emerging and establish contemporary artists, the annual event will take place at The Tunnel in Chelsea. In the past I have purchased wonderful pieces of art, all reasonably priced (as the name implies). All pieces range from $100-$10,000. Museum of the City of New York One of my favorite museums of the city that continually impresses me with historical exhibits of our city. Two current exhibits that I recommend are Activist New York and Picturing Central Park. Morgan Library and MuseumTwo wonderful exhibits. This Friday, 18th century Venetian drawings will be on display. After touring the exhibit stay for music from 7-9pm. On October 4th, Edgar Allan Poe's Terror of the Soul opens.

Curtain Up...

September 27 Broadway on the Hudson
At Brookfield Place on the Waterfront, the cast of Pippin will perform, along with other noted entertainers... a free concert. Amazing jazz pianist performs at the Village Vanguard.
I couldn't resist noting the opening of Bellini's Bel Canto era opera. Performances through November 1st.
A perfect evening at Carnegie Hall...a magical setting hosting our city's famed orchestra and a world renowned trumpet player.

Purchase 2 for 1 tickets to some of Broadway's best shows - for performances September 23 to October 6.

Illuminate Artist of Light
Playing at New World Stage through February, music, art and magical light combine to entertain the audience with a story of adventure and romance through dance styles from hip hop to contemporary jazz.

While at Grand Central, stop in at Vanderbilt Hall to meet with Debi Mazar, host of the Cooking channel. Celebrate national coffee weekend while tasting Lavazza coffee's new blends.

Oyster lovers and curious foodies will enjoy exploring the cuisines presented, along with sampling the best oysters. On the 28th, head to the lower level of Grand Central for the 11th Annual Oyster Frenzy; sample 16 varieties of oysters and 6 championship wines. October 2 Let us Eat Local Connecting NYC with local farms. A culinary evening at the Altman Building featuring celebrated NYC chefs, food artisans and local wines. 
October 4 to 6 Identità New York 2013The 4th edition at Eataly NYC features 8 events in 3 days, with 17 chefs. Attend cooking seminars and also enjoy sipping drinks under the stars at Birreria's rooftop garden while the weather is still gorgeous.
