Visit the Italian American Museum in Little Italy
155 Mulberry Street
After grabbing a cannoli at the Feast, watch a 10-minute continuous video highlighting the historical and cultural significance of the Feast of San Gennaro. Historical photographs will be gathered from family collections that will be on display through the festival. I'll be looking for photos of my relatives who owned an Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village.
Go on a Culinary Tour of Little Italy
Savory Sojourns not only offers tours of Little Italy, as well as an Italian Greenwich Village Tour and a tour of Arthur Avenue, which is soaked in Italian culture.
Learn to Speak Italian Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village - 240 Bleecker Street
One of the best schools in the city, Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village, I've already begun to fulfill my dream there of speaking my family's native language.
Take a Pasta Making Class
Rustico Cooking School - 40 West 39th Street
Sign up for a class at the Rustico Cooking School. I took a class there and it was so much fun! What could be more Italian than that? Or, take a Mozzarella Making Class at Murray's Cheese (254 Bleecker Street) ... while you're there, pick up some fresh Parmigiano Reggiano and olive oil.
Immerse Yourself in Everything Italian
Eataly - 200 5th Avenue
I talk about Eataly all the time, but it cannot be over-told... if you want the freshest of Italian foods and gifts, this is the place to go!
