Front Row:
Chinese American Designers
Through September 29th at the Museum of Chinese in America, the exhibit features Chinese designers that made their marks in NYC. Anna Sui and Vera Wang to name a few.
John Singer Sargent WatercolorsThrough July 28th at the Brooklyn Museum, the exhibit features 93 watercolors acquired by the Brooklyn Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Some works include videos showing a contemporary watercolor artist demonstrating some of Sargent's methods.

Through July 14 River to River Festival
This is the last weekend for the annual festival, so visit the website for the schedule of events in locations from Governors Island to the South Street Seaport.
July 13 Rite of Summer Music Festival On Governors Island, Bang on a Can All-Stars will perform. The annual free outdoor concert features classical and cutting-edge contemporary music .
July 16 Picnic Supper & Concert with the New York Philharmonic In Van Cortlandt Park, even though the picnic is sold out, you can still come to the free concert at 8pm!
July 16 The Met Summer Recital Series Performances in all 5 burroughs... the 16th is at Central Park's SummerStage. Head to Brooklyn Bridge Park on the 19th. Bring your blanket, your friends, and some snacks for a free outdoor performance! July 17 2013 Battle of the BandsWall Street Rocks for our Heroes - an annual event to raise money for America's military veterans and first responders. This year it will take place at the Cutting Room. Flamenco: 100 Years of Flamenco in New YorkThrough August 3rd at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, the multi-media exhibition features photos, costumes, films, and readings... but also performances, film screenings, panels, and educational programs. Forever TangoJust opened on Broadway, a dramatic story is told through dance... sixteen world-class tango dancers, one vocalist and the eleven-piece Forever Tango orchestra. Special guest stars Karina & Maksim from Dancing with the Stars! Through September 15th. Midtown International Theatre Festival At 312 West 36th Street, various dates and performances throughout the summer. The annual festival celebrates the diversity of theatre in New York City and beyond.

Grab your racquet, find a partner, and get ready for a great workout! Here are my top picks:
Central Park Tennis Center
Located mid-park at around 93rd Street, easily accessible from the east and west side. This year they are offering lessons as well.
Hudson River Pier
Located at West Houston Street on the West Side Highway, the three free tennis courts are first-come, first 'serve'.
McCarren Park
Located in Brooklyn, they offer lessons and have smaller courts for children.
Riverside Clay Tennis Association
Red-clay tennis courts in Riverside Park near 96th Street, this are public courts available for a $15 day pass. 
USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center
Located in Flushing, Queens, home to the US Open... 12 indoor DecoTurf courts, 19 field courts, four climate-controlled clay bubbled courts and three stadium courts. They also offer summer adult tennis programs and cardio tennis. Washington Market Park A lit, hard-court in Tribeca, this park also has a basketball court, events, and tennis clinics.
