Ongoing  South Street Seaport Summer Program
The Howard Hughes Corporation has hosted a summer program in this neighborhood that's been so affected by November's Super Storm. Check out the website for all of the great things going on as part of their See/Change initiative.

An exclusive collection of music and pop culture, curated by Alec Baldwin at Gallery 151.

 

June 29  Warm Up 2013 Outdoor Music Series 

Visit MoMA PS1 every Saturday through September 7th for live music and international DJs (to support established and emerging artists). Located in the courtyard, you can also view the temporary urban landscape by CODA called Party Wall!

   

Through August 4   ROCKicons 

Visit the Dorian Grey Gallery to view iconic rock photographs by legendary professionals, as well as rock and roll sculptures (like crystal guitars). 

 

Through July 26  Paul McCarthy and Damon McCarthy: Rebel Dabble Babble

At the Hauser and Wirth Gallery, the 3 interrelated exhibits will feature dynamics of the 1950s. The works are inspired by "Rebel without a Cause" and the relationship between James Dean and Natalie Wood.

In Herald Square, beginner swing dance lesson led by DanceSport  instructors, followed by an outdoor dance party.

Of course!  The 37th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular will start at 8pm with musical background curated by Macy's and Usher! More than 40,000 fireworks. You can get tickets for great seats at  The Frying Pan, The Intrepid, among others... or get out there early and grab a free spot.  


Head to Coney Island 

A great place to spend the day... while there, watch Nathan's Famous 97th annual Hot Dog Eating Contest

 

 

Take a Yacht Cruise 
You can watch the fireworks aboard a beautiful yacht on the Hudson. Check out their 4th of July Independence Day cruises.
