Give the Gift of Reading
Boswell Books' Daniel Goldin gives you his list of must-give books

Join the Friends of Shorewood Library on Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m. for a Holiday Book Talk with Daniel Goldin.

Goldin - proprietor of Boswell Book Company on Downer Avenue and all-around book guru - will present a list of his picks for every person on your list. Knowledgeable and known for his skill at recommending books, Daniel is sure to inspire you to give books as gifts no matter what you're celebrating this season.

Books will be for sale at the event, with a portion of sales going to the Friends of the Library to help their mission to support great library programming and services.

Find Bargains at the Media Sale
Organized by Friends of the Library
Don't miss the best sale around on hundreds of used DVDs, CDs and videos during the Friends Media Sale beginning Saturday, December 6.

Most items can be yours at the low price of 2 for a dollar! The sale will run through December 13, as supplies last.

Did you know? You can donate books and media items year-round to the library for inclusion in the ongoing book sale run by the Friends of the Library. Learn more about how to donate your used items on our website.

Thank you for generously donating non-perishable food for the TAB Thanksgiving Food Drive! We took 15 bags of food to Hunger Task Force.

Become a Library Friend Before Year-End

If you value literacy and learning as well as library collections, programs and services, help us continue Shorewood Library's vital role in our community. We are always looking for new members and year-end is a great time to join us. Complete the form on the library website to make your tax-deductible contribution before December 31. Let us know if you would like to volunteer and we will contact you!

Plan for the New Year

If one of your resolutions for 2015 will be to read more, participating in a book club is a great way to help you meet your goal. Book groups expand your reading choices and offer interesting and enjoyable discussions. The Friends are exploring interest in a new evening book group featuring guest leaders like our wonderful librarians. Email us at the address below if you would like more details.

The Friends Annual Meeting takes place December 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the library. As always, all members and non-members are welcome to attend.
