• Cake Wrecks: When Professional Cakes Go Hilariously Wrong by Jen Yates- Angie, our administrative assistant and artist extraordinaire, suggests this amusing title stating that it "will help you laugh away your winter blues."
• Unruly Places: Lost Spaces, Secret Cities, and Other Inscrutable Geographies by Alastair Bonnett- Eddie found this non-fiction title interesting, explaining "each chapter covers a geographical anomaly and demonstrates how map making and geography are intertwined with culture, history, religion, and politics."  
• What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions by Randall Munroe - Kate the Clerk says you should read this book from the producer of web comic XKCD, "because it's so funny that you just might learn something"
• California by Edan Lepucki- Hayley suggests Lepucki's debut novel about a couple's survival in a near-future dystopian United States.  California takes a somber look at human nature while providing social commentary about our contemporary norms.    
• Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers- Emily recommends this title and the other two in the His Fair Assassin series. Taking ancient Brittany as her backdrop, LaFevers creates strong, vivid heroines who battle with skills both practical and a little otherworldly; for historical fiction fans.

Become a Library Friend Before Year-End

Plan for the New Year

If one of your resolutions for 2015 will be to read more, participating in a book club is a great way to help you meet your goal. Book groups expand your reading choices and offer interesting and enjoyable discussions. The Friends are exploring interest in a new evening book group featuring guest leaders like our wonderful librarians. Annual Meeting

The Friends Annual Meeting takes place December 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the library. As always, all members and non-members are welcome to attend.
