Helping you Age Actively and Gracefully

Physical Therapy

No one can escape the consequences of aging.
But every single person can plan ahead and maintain strength, flexibility and mobility to age gracefully.

The human body is made to move. The best way to stay active and healthy is to challenge the bones, joints and muscles in a controlled, progressive manner. That's why physical therapy is crucial for individuals of all ages and stages of life.

Remain positive and ask your physical therapist Physical Therapy about the right and the wrong way to exercise. Challenge your body in a safe, yet progressive manner. Instead of saying "Will this hurt me?", you should be asking yourself "How can I do this safely and how can I remain active?"

While physical therapy cannot reverse aging, it can certainly help you age gracefully, and live a happy, healthy and active life as the years go by.

Call our office today to schedule an evaluation. We can offer you a range of exercises and other treatment options to keep your mind and body feeling younger than you may realize

Get Your Game On
Video Games Can Improve Your Health

Video Games Exergames-physical video games like those you play on Wii-help you burn calories while promoting cognitive stimulation, according to studies in Games for Health Journal. They also improve motor and decision-making skills and may even improve vision.

A study in the Annual Review of Cybertherapy and Telemedicine found that gamers who suffered from stress and depression were able to vent their frustration and aggression by playing video games and showed a noted improvement.

Video games don't just provide relief from emotional Video Games pain. They can also help those who are suffering from physical pain. Psychologists at the University of Washington developed a game that helps hospital patients suffering from immense physical pain by using an age-old mental trick: distraction.

Strategy games are brain boosters, too. Games that require complex problem solving can stimulate your brain more than simple puzzles. So go ahead...get your game on!

Coping with Holiday Stress
Reducing & Managing Stress with
The Feldenkrais Method

Stress is everywhere during the Holiday Season!
Holidays are meant to be a joyful time of celebration, creating wonderful memories with family and friends. But the Holiday Season may stir up feelings of anxiety, stress, sadness or even grief from missing friends and family. Cooking, decorating, shopping...the added hustle and bustle can increase an already heavy load of responsibilities and emotion.

The Feldenkrais Method® can help reduce the stress you experience during the Holiday Season. Affect your breathing, posture, flexibility, range of motion, self-image, vitality and bring your attention back to the present moment and joy of the season. After a Feldenkrais session, people often feel taller and lighter, more centered and balanced.  You'll be relaxed, breathe more easily and find you have more energy.

Santa Monica's Co-opportunity

In the Community
As a co-op, they're much more than just another natural foods store-they're actually owned by our local community. Unlike the national chain stores, the Co-op exists to serve you, the owners-not a distant corporate board.

As an owner, you have a say in how your Co-op is run. They pride themselves on being highly responsive to your input. Because all owners have an equal share in the Co-op, they welcome owner feedback and encourage engagement on all levels. Democratic ownership allows the board, management and staff to remain committed to providing the best service and shopping experience possible.

In fact, a co-op is the most democratic form of business in existence today...and you can be a part of it!
