Greetings!
Welcome to the first Center for Physical Health newsletter, where we're pleased to share information and news about physical therapy, rehabilitation exercise and the various healing techniques we offer. We'll highlight some of the physicians we partner with in providing our patients the most innovative physical therapy in West Los Angeles. Having been in business for over 20 years, we're especially pleased to also feature wonderful health and wellness organizations and resources in our community.
We hope you'll enjoy reading the articles, find them valuable and forward the newsletter to a friend or tell someone about us. We also invite you to visit our new website and social media channels.
We thank you for your continued support.
To your health!

Fit After 50
Physical Therapy and Baby Boomers
Most of us know that physical activity provides outstanding benefits, such as maintaining a healthy weight, reducing belly fat, increasing bone density, improving cognitive function and improving sleep quality. But remaining physically active as you age can also help guard against certain chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease and some cancers. People who are most fit at midlife experience better health and reduce their risk of developing chronic diseases after the age of 65, according to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
At 78 million strong, baby boomers are a generation known for redefining aging. Although boomers are more health conscious, educated and financially secure than previous generations, America's worsening obesity epidemic has also touched those in this age group and threatens their long-term health and the active lifestyles they embrace. To promote healthy aging, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has launched a new initiative, Fit After 50, to provide baby boomers with practical tips and useful information to help them maintain the motion and mobility needed to engage in regular physical activity and sustain a healthy lifestyle.

Spine Cal in Santa Monica and a long-time friend of the Center.
"My primary goal is to listen to my patients. I enjoy using my background as an elementary school teacher to now educate and get to know each patient. This truly helps me understand their concerns and what motivates them. By establishing this trust, we can provide a warm, caring environment where patients can learn about their Spine and can choose the treatments which will complement their lifestyles."
